- Stenciling can add a great deal to painted wall, floors, ceiling, furniture, etc. Stencils and supplies range in price from inexpensive (craft store) or very expensive (custom designed). You provide the labor and you are only limited by your $$$ and your imagination.
- Material from fabric store for tops of dressers, table (they have vinyl 'cloth' as well). I had seen a kids room with: light blue walls as the start and this color stopped 1/3 from bottom of the corner of 2 walls that was going to have this 'murial'. Hand painted tree trunk with branches going to both walls. A hand painted Garfield on tree branch, dark green painted from bottom & up to where the sky should be. Then Odie painted sitting under tree. Some white sponged splashes in sky for clouds. Adorable.
- stenciling, making your own curtains and pillows, if your trying to add furniture, go to a second hand store and finds something that you are interested in and sand it down and refinish it yourself; and sometimes you dont have to buy alot of things to make it look all decorative. Just buying the one right thing,(like the perfect bed spread, or the perfect lighting fixture) can really add umpf to a room without making it all cluttered with lots of things.
