babysitting naughty kids!?
been babysitting some kids down the road for the past year, and they're really cute and i get on with their parents and stuff but they are SO hard to get to bed! they sleep in seperate rooms and when i put one to bed the other runs out and starts jumping on the mum and dad's bed and then i go and get him and the girl runs out of her room and does it to! the longest its taken me just to get them setted is about half an hour longer than it should arrgh. im 17 and they are, boy = 5, girl = 3/4ish any tips on how to calm them down/control them?? i dont wanna be mean!

- reead them a book or let them watch a movie before bed
- sometimes you have to be mean to get what you want from kids.I am 15 and babysit alll the time and if a kid doesnt listen you have to threaten them and show them who is in charge say they wont have a snack before bed or like there parents are gonna be very mad when i tell them what you did or something like that sometimes you have to be strict.
- they're young enough to fall for some white lies...just tell them that if they behave really well and go to bed early you'll bring them a treat next time and be enthusiastic about it be for real! and then next time be all serious about how you forgot it and feel all bad about it...unless you really want to bring them a treat ;] ... and if they seem to forget about the treat later on during the day and they start acting badly remind them, " i guess you don't want your treat next time, because you're not listening" works aaaaallll the time!
- be very firm do not yell i have learned that yelling makes it hard when you are getting ready to put them to bed tell them you will read them a book if they will go to bed if they wont go after the book tell them you will not read to them anymore before bed when they do listen make sure to let them know there being good
