Kids Room Tips

annoying neighbors!?

Is there anyone out there who thinks there neighbors are so very annoying? When we moved in we were going to fence in our yard,,(kids) the neighbors told us we could not that they would find that offensive, then they brag about how they never get permitts to build they just dont care,, they take advantage of our yard,,we just landscaped our yard and they run ther 4 wheelers through and they move my kids outside toys around so they can get thought our yard! Then they dump lime stone in our yard and then they think they can put us down left and right. We are adding on to our house,,they feel they need to tell us that our remodeling will not help the value of our house,,,I could care less we need more room! Then they tell us they use our internet (we didnt have it blocked at the time) They act better then everyone,,,,they are in no means better then anyone,,they live in a trailer ruin there own yard,,,and are loud annoying smelly people who can never clean there house dont people get caught for not having permitts to build? They also would let there dog poop on my driveway and my kids would walk into to it,,i had to shovel it off everyday! they always feel they can put there stupid input into our business,,oh and we have a trampoline,,they told us that they are not going to put there us up this year that they will us ours instead! that made me soo mad!!!

  1. i'm fourteen. so you dont have to take my advice. but i do occasionally watch people's court and i'd have to say, be the bigger person. catch them on video tape destroying your yard. then tell on them. :] it can only work out for you.
  2. You gotta turn them in for the permit violations. And here's another tip. Since the dog's are pooing on your lawn, I guess that means they're in the house all day long? Well it's an interesting trivia, but it's amazing what dogs will eat that is covered with bacon grease. Why they'll even eat fresh dog feces. Imagine what that would do to a carpet? You might try a fence and a hidden camera.
  3. Build that fence. Now! Who gives a crap if they find it "offensive"? Just reading your post made me cringe. If they trespass on your property, call the cops. Or get a rifle. They have no right whatsoever to be in your yard.
  4. I would get the fence. Do you really think your sanity is worth the possibility of them feeling offended??
  5. They are mean....but be wise...dont let them show youo down!!
  6. My friend was told the same thing about putting up a fence. They wanted to get a dog and didn't want it to run all over the place, no one could stop them from doing it. If these people live in a trailer I doubt you will have a code violations there. Video that dog pooing in your yard, put up the fence.
  7. good fences make go neighbors I would put up a nice privacy fence and stop being a door mat for your neighbors Honestly do you REALLY even like these people ?
  8. Yes. We have had neighbors straight from hell also. Your neighbors sound like they are totally out of control & using you as a doormat to put it nicely. I understand. Isn't it great when they respect no rules or regulations? & a cocky attitude to boot! What's even worse is if the so called "authorities" believe the neighbors are being victimized by YOU! The neighbors might decide to lie about you to the police & judges. Be very careful! It happened to us. I used to have a record to be proud of! You can really become disillusioned with the system. Especially when you're in the right. Doing the right thing can turn out to be the wrong thing. I would love to see how the authorities would handle having neighbors like that! My point is evidence, audio, video, recordings, testimony, etc. if you need to go to court. Avoid it at all costs though. It will take a toll on you. It's not worth it! We had to move. Our life depended on it... Get out of there if you can. Swallow your pride.
  9. Um Yeah!!! You cannot add on anything without a permit, you can report them anonymously, contact the inspectors thru your county government
  10. I know some things about permits and the like but it totally depends on where you live. They can't stop you from building a fence 'just because they would find it offensive.' Do they easement rights over your property? (they might). Find out what local laws allow. If you can build a fence, then do. If you trust the town officials or police, talk to them and see if there's anything you can do. Take photos of videos of them dumping stuff on your property. Also, if you have leash laws, then if their dog poops on your driveway? Get that on film. AND HERE'S A BIG ONE: THEY'VE BEEN DOING STUFF WITHOUT GETTING PERMITS FIRST??? (There are lawsuits in my town against people who built without permits!) 1. First, WHAT have they done? You might want to do some measuring here. Have they come onto YOUR property? OR Have they come within 20' of their OWN property line? [which often requires a zoning variation to do first?} FIND OUT. BECAUSE if THAT NEW PORCH OF THEIRS doesn't meet zoning requirements and they didn't get a permit or get a variation, then you may have the power to make them tear it down. There MIGHT be a 7-year statute of limitations on that, I'm not sure if it applies when the law is broken--but find out what they did without a permit BECAUSE YOU MAY BE ABLE TO USE IT AS A THREAT AGAINST THEM, AS LEVERAGE IF NOTHING ELSE. OF COURSE, making them angrier might not be what you want to do either. However, it would actually be WISE for you to learn what your neighbor has done in case it does affect your property, and it is also wise to DOCUMENT, with a JOURNAL, PHOTOS, AND VIDEOS, the harm your neighbor is doing to your property. Maybe you can take him to small claims court for costs of cleaning up future dumping on your property. And if he gets the drift that you're smarter than he thought, and that maybe the police or township people know something about him now, too, maybe he'll calm down a bit. Maybe. But I wouldn't let him keep walking all over you.
