Extreme Makeover - Marine Family?
The show tonight about the Marine from Kansas... he lost his leg in Iraq and then his wife left him with 4 kids to care for... You get the feeling the kids are completely disconnected from the show. They show no emotion or happiness at getting a new house, at going on vacation, at Hanna Montana concert, at their special rooms, at pretty much anything. Many military fathers are known to treat their kids with a totalitarian nature....these kids didn't show happiness or emotion throughout the entire show, it was weird....I feel sorry for them.

- Are you serious? The kids are all under 9 years old. Do you really think they new what was going on? From what I saw they were thrilled with their rooms and their new house. The kids were more or less in shock when they were on vacation...and do you think the little boys really wanted to go to a Hannah Montana concert? These are kids who have never really had anything and now they have a new house and new toys...I'm sure they were overwhelmed.
- I think that kids that age are a bit overwhelmed at the whole process that comes w/ the show. The older girl several times cried when she talked about her dad 7 how it was when he was injured. With the changes in their life that the injury brought, the fact that their mother bailed out of the relationship (& apparently bailed out on them as well), gee, at those ages how responsive would you be??? I'm way older, but if there is a camera on the premises, I turn into an uncommunicative blob too. Give them all a break, please!
- i felt the same way wow is true they sho no emotion whatsoever i was kind asking myslef the same thing... so sad. where the hell is their mother that bitch wow how can you leave your f-ing kids?
- they looked happy to me. dont criticize the man's parenting. he was wounded in war and his wife left him alone with 4 kids. all of them have been through dramatic changes and may have unresolved issues.
- the kids seem happy to me and seem to be very loved by there dad but they did show emotion when they talked about what happen to there dad, you can see in there eyes how much there dad means to them but most of all he is a single father raise those by myself because there mother could not handle what was happen around her. his olderest daughter cried when they were talking about her dad being hurt and also crying when they were talking about there mother leaving them. not all military father treat there kids with a totalitrian nature my friend treat there kids with respect and they are a normal family like everyone else. i give respect to all the kids today who have parents in ther military and oversea because they don't know if there parents will ever come back.
- Are you kidding me? Seriously, the kids have been through a lot. They almost lost their Dad and then their dead beat Mom bails on them when times get hard. The children are too young to really know what is going on. Plus you have to remember this is TV. They shoot the same thing over and over again. So what we saw may have been the 5th or 6th shoot or more. I think they were very appreciative. Just because they didn't fall to the floor and be over dramatic like some other people on past shows didn't mean they weren;t happy. I think this family was more deserving of the new house than any other family so far! They are a humble family.
- im sure they really didnt get what was going on. the older girl was the only one with emotions. they also have gone through so much with their dad being wounded, their mother leaving. those kids are probably facing some depression and should talk to a professional counseler. the only problem i did have was that those girls were way too overweight. i dont get how the dad could let those girls be like that especially since hes a marine and into martial arts, running etc
