remodeling my basement/computer room...? After taxes come back I am giving up my computer room so my oldest daughter can have her own room. I am moving my stuff into my basement and I am undecided as to what to paint on the walls. Out of these ideas, what one should I go with? 1. Have my kids each paint a picture of their choice on the wall where my computer desk will go. 2. Have them put their hand prints on the wall behind where my computer desk is going to go and make a big heart. 3. Try to paint their portrait on the wall and have them each put their hand print next to the image.
Install fire sprinklers in a home? I am remodeling a home and I am considering installing sprinklers on the top floor where the kids rooms will be. Pros and Cons? Has anyone done this before. My only fear is that they might go off accidentially and cause water damage. Thank you!
Is it wrong to ask my parents for $$ help for a remodeling project for small house b/c of new baby? Hi there. I am wondering from the rest of the parents out there if it would be in bad taste to ask my parents to help us out financially for a remodeling project which would be to finish our attic to make it livable. My husband and I have a very small (900 square foot) two bedroom house. We are expecting baby #2 (we already have a 2 year old) here soon, and we are really tight on room. Our only option is to finish the attic for our room, but It's probably going to cost around $3,000. I'm not the mooching type (I've been working since I was 14, after that my parents stopped paying for my clothes and stuff, they havn't payed for anything for me since - no cars, insurance, gas, rent, gifts, tuition, absolutely nothing). I have a really good relationship with them, I'm just wondering what some of the other parents with grown children (I'm 22, my husband is 28) out there would do if there kid asked them to help them out with something like this. What do you think? Thanks a bunch! I've never asked for ANYTHING from my parents before, and they've never given me anything either. The friends that I graduated with, their parents paid for their college, bought them new vehicles, paid for their medical and car insurance, bought them houses, totally remodeled houses for them, bought them land, gave them huge wedding gifts, bought them all of their furniture, gave them very large amounts of money for savings accounts, paid for weddings, honeymoons and lots of other things. My parents never did any of that. I've always paid for everything on my own. My parents are in the financial position to do it. They pay for everything for my 20 yr old brother, they've bought him 4 cars and 2 motorcycles, paid for tuition, insurance and lots more. So that's kinda where I'm coming from. Thanks! As I said before, I HAVE NEVER, EVER, EVER, asked for ANYTHING from my parents EVER before!
What are some good craft/decorating magazines and/or websites? i'm 11 turning 12 and i'm looking for some good craft/decorating magazines - any suggestions? i'm talking about thing like making your own pictures frames, cool, simple and cheap ideas to decorate your room, etc. not actually "paper crafts", just more like decorative idea magazines that KIDS can do, not with adult ideas like "remodeling your kitchen", if you get what i mean. im looking for magazines, but a website would be great, too. but im looking for something other than american girl or house beautiful. or HGTV. please help! thanks! p.s. kind of like simple DIY projects to decorate your room, or DIY projects to make cute crafts!!
Is it cheesy to give kids furniture as christmas gifts, but not their main presents? I finished my christmas shopping for my 12 and 13 year olds. They are getting a ds lite and lots of those little expensive gadgets. When they are wrapped up, they don't look like much. I miss the good old days of big cheap toys when they were younger. I was planning on remodelling their room including some bunk beds. They come in boxes that I would have to assemble. I was thinking maybe I could wrap them up as presents. they technically are for them. I could have them open them and here, "man... furniture." When they get through the 5 bigger furniture boxes, I could have them open their "real" presents. It would be kinda like in that christmas carol movie where the Red Ryder BB gun was hidden behind the tree.
What chore schedule works in your family? We have a 11 year old and a 151/2 year old (whom does have a job 16 hours a week at a restaraunt). Have tried different things for chores, but does not last. I know everything is about consistancy. They have only 2 things that are there expected of them. School first and there own bedrooms, which are usually a disaster. Upon the usual-house, yard, dog, cat, we are also putting on an addition and remodeling to our 55yr. old home, key word WE meaning doing all ourself. Point being, we need to regain control of this issue with our kids, right now! Hello- more house=more care. I can not keep up now, and feel there is no reason they should not be helping daily. My new thought is to either assign or let them pick a room, and have to keep it clean for the week, then switch each week. At this point, I need serious feedback from others. So, chores, allowance and results of a non-cooperative child, is appreciated Respectful advice/ideas is what this overwhelmed mom needs. GOOD DAY!
I have a room that I would like to make into a playroom but also utilize as a guest room, any suggestions? I have a room in my home that I would like to use as a playroom, but also have available as a guest room when family and friends come to stay. I have a full size bed, and bookcase, toybox, as well as plastic containers to hold toys-would like to utilize these instead of spending lots of money to remodel. Any suggestions, or pictures of others playroom guest rooms would be greatly appreciated. Again, I would like to not buy any new furniture. I really want to know how I can make a multi-function room, and still have it look cozy for guests and fun for my kids. I want my guests to not feel like they are sleeping in a playroom, and my children not to feel like they are playing in a room that doesn't belong to them. I would like to use the colors: yellow, blue, and green. What about making the full size bed look like a day bed, but I don't want it to be to crowded. Any help It was posted in remodeling, but I thought I would ask mom's because maybe you have on in your home. THANKS! We do not have people stay over very often, but I wanted a guest room. I just didn't want to utilize the room only as a guest room once (if at all) a year. My children have bedrooms, and when there are people here usually the children are busy, or they play in their rooms for the weekend.
I need painting help and carpet help???? I am wanting to remodel my living room and my theme is magnolias. I want burgundy carpet, with likea creme colored paint for the walls. How do you all think that will look together? Right now I have old hardwood flooring with white painted walls. And I am totally tired of white walls, they are hard to keep clean with a 7 and 8 year old kids. So anyone who can help please do so. Also I have a huge blue sectional couch in the room and my furniture is mostly cherry oak like my coffee table and end tables. Most of my wall art of magnolias have a tan spekled look on their background. also my fave colors are burgundy and blue. I live in alabama south west in choctaw county does anybody have a cheap place to buy carpet?
Our 2 sons graduate next month from H.S. How long do we have to throw a party? We are finishing a very, very long house remodel. What we have is goregous. A new kitchen, tile, carpet in the bedrooms, finished bedrooms - all gorgeous. But, don't have furniture. Two of the bathrooms aren't finished, one has no shower door or toilet; our bathroom has no toilet, tub or shower. And, the front yard is not landscaped There are no window treatments on any of the windows except the kids' bedrooms, not even ours (thank God for large trees!); Only the bedrooms and the front room have furniture and the furniture in the front room is ready for the curb. We feel pressured. We want the party, but we feel rushed. We want to wait, but if we do, we'll end up with a house party and no graduation ceremony. Maybe no party! Any ideas? Nothing with the big bucks please, we don't live in the O.C. Thank you. Our hallway bath is in full working order, tub/shower/toilet/sink, it's just the old part of the house, no remodeling done, but it can be polished up.
you bought a house for cheap......? because the previous owners were found murdered in their beds (you still have the bed upstairs in the attic). the only suspect was their luscious 19 year old daughter (or for girls..the hunky son), who had an alibi. 10 years later, you find pics of the murder being commited by the kid under a floorboard in a room you are remodeling. by that time you are married to the son or daughter, and have a couple of kids by that person. what do you do?
I need help with my kids!? I just had my third child a week ago. I have a 5 year old getting ready to start kindergarden this fall, a 1 year old and now a 1 week old. We are currently living with my grandparents cause our house is being remodeled and painted. We are staying in the basment which is fully finished, but does not have walls for rooms..it's carpeted and has tv and a full bathroom ,it's nice but as far as having our 1 year old down there, it's hard. I can't get him to go to sleep at night cause we are right there next to his crib and he thinks he needs to be in our bed.Our new baby is in the cosleeper next to the bed on my side. I feel really bad cause our 5 year old is upstairs with my grandparents and i don't really have alot of time to spend with her now that i have 2 infants to care for constantly. I also feel terrible that i have to put my 1 year old in the play pen and he just stands there and cries while i nurse the new baby. I need help getting organized with my time and how do this!!! the reason my kids (1 year old and the 1 week old) are so close together is because my mom killed herself and i missed my 6 week postpartum visit. Due to the fact that with my other 2 i did clomid and invetro, i NEVER thought i would just get pregnant on my own! Surprise!

Will kids(boy/girl) need separate bathrooms as they grow older? I have an 8 yr old girl and 4 yr old boy. They have separate rooms, pretty big and done up as they each like, with study table, bed, TV, playarea and lots of storage. There is a bathroom near their rooms. It is really big, with 2 sinks and lots of cabinets. And then a door with knob that leads to the potty and shower area. So, one can use the shower or potty in privacy while the other is using his/her sink. So far they are fine sharing. I am trying to predict if this sharing bathroom will be OK as they grow older? Or will they need separate bathrooms? If so, at what age? I am hoping they won't need separate bathrooms. But, we are doing some remodelling now, and this would be a good time to add a bathroom, if at all. So, can a brother and sister share a bathroom as they grow older or are separate ones a better idea?
i need help with my yearbook spread? its student life---summer? ok, i have this years summer spread. i need some photo ideas. and i need some interesting story ideas. if it were your yearbook what would you like to see included in it? like for summer, or you can give me ideas on any other topic. for my story i was thinking of writing about someone who traveled a lot and discuss the kind of sites they saw and the culture and stuff like that. photo ideas i was thinking of using was, school sponsored stuff, students paintballing, swimming (which is original), summer athletics, trainers remodeling their training room, and idk what else. what kind of stuff do kids do during summer? all your ideas will be appreciated! thankss! thanks but........all staffers aren't allowed to be in the yearbook unless we're involved in other clubs or there's a picture where there is no way to be cropped out. and they make sure that all the pictures we use aren't any of our friends!
Bathroom Remodel Layout Help? I own a ranch style home that has a main floor and a basment. There is a 1/2 bath in master bathroom and a full bath (tub/shower) in the hallway bathroom. There is also a full bath (tub/shower) in the basement. I DEFINITELY want to put at least a shower in the master bathroom but there is no space in the current layout. Since the master bathroom and hallway bathroom are adjacent to each other I was thinking of knocking down the wall in between the two and basically putting a corner shower in the master bathroom and then taking out the tub in the hallway bathroom and making it a shower. Ideally I would like to have a shower in master bathroom, tub/shower in hallway bathroom and a tub/shower in basement bathroom but there is just not room for this unless I expand the exterior house walls and I don't want to do this. Would having two showers in the main floor and a tub in the basement be OK? I know families with kids always like having a tub but they could go to the basement for it.
Does anyone know? how to persway my parents in redoing my room! I'm still sleeping in the same kid bedroom. help with planning a romantic night? I have 2 kids and we are going to my finacee's house for the weekend. They do not have their own rooms yet ( we are in the process of remodeling) and they sleep in the living room and say they are "camping out". I want to have a romantic night with my finacee and I am just a little worried that with the bedroom being so close to the living room where they sleep that they may know what is going on plus they don't go to bed till kinda late up there. I want something different. Unique and inexpensive. Any ideas???
Any advice? Ok, so I have been with my husband for almost 14 years now, I have a daughter that is almost 14 and another that just turned 11. Yet I feel alone alot. I feel like I am a maid and that noone else has to do anything around this house to help me out. Don't get me wrong, I love my family with all my heart and soul. However the little things are starting to bug me! For example, we are remodeling our house so the kids go to my mom's after supper and there homework is done cause we have no running water. I have to remind them nightly they need to get there homework done! There rooms are pig pens! I try to make deals with them about spending an hour a day up there till they are clean! dont work! This morning I get up and the puppy had peed and pooped on the floor, the trash was over full and some tinfoil had been chewed up on the living room rug. This all happened before my husband left for work cause the dog was in my room with the door shut when he left, but yet he left it for me! HELP!!!!!
Paint Color help!? I have a bedroom in our remodeled basement. When we remodeled it, the windows were covered, so there is no natural light. There is paneling around the bottom, about 3 feet high, with thin molding around the top. Right now, the paneling is lime green, the molding is purple, and the wall above is white. I had a colorful room as a kid.... Now I have a Black and white comforter and black and silver accessories/furniture. I was wondering if anyone (maybe professionals out there?) would have any ideas what colors would work for the bedroom. I'm not married to the comforter, and am not opposed to changing it. I guess I could have summed up the question by asking... What colors work for a room with zero natural light? And what colors definitely don't? Thanks!
would you hate this family? my aunt and uncle have two kids, they have a humungous house AND they just remodeled their basement so its a movie room with a little kitchen and an air hockey table which my grandmother gave to them even though their rich they get all the cool stuff from my grandmothers, and every holiday they have brand new cell phones (my cousins that are 10 and 13) and little touch screen gadgets and they have lab tops and everything and theyre bitchy to my grandmother and never help her out, and never thank her for anything because they are SO damn spoiled! is it wrong to DESPISE them and refuse to go to their house for easter? if they acted nice towards my grandmother who practically helped raise them i would not hate them at all
this is not a question but a warning to those who have or have had kids? McDonalds, Chuck E Cheese, Discovery Zone, etc... Some of you might not be parents, but you may have nieces, nephews, grandchildren or friends with children. This will pertain to you too. As I read the following, my heart sank. I urge each and every one of you to pass this on to as many people as you can. I cannot stress how important this is! This is very disturbing news. In addition to the following true story... Our son lost his watch, and was very upset. We dug and dug in those balls, trying to find the watch. Instead, we found vomit, food, feces, and other stuff I do not want to discuss. I went to the manager and raised hell. Come to find out, the ball pit is only cleaned out once a month. I have doubts that it is even done that often. My kids will never play in another ball pit. Now read this: PRETTY SCARY!! Hi. My name is Lauren Archer, my son Kevin and I lived in Midland,TN. On October 2nd, 1999 I took my only son to McDonald's for his 3rd birthday. After he finished lunch, I allowed him to play in the ball pit. When he started whining later on, I asked him what was wrong, he pointed to the back of his pull-up and simply said "Mommy, it hurts." I couldn't find anything wrong with him at that time. I bathed him when we got home, and it was at that point when I found a welt on his left buttock. Upon investigating, it seemed as if there was something like a splinter under the welt. I made an appointment to see the doctor the next day, but soon he started vomiting and shaking, then his eyes rolled back into his head. From there, we went to the emergency room. He died later that night. It turned out that the welt on his buttock was the tip of a hypodermic needle that had broken off inside. The autopsy revealed that Kevin had died from a heroine overdose. The next week, the police removed the balls from the ball pit. There was rotten food, several hypodermic needles: some full, some used; knives, half-eaten candy, diapers, feces, and the stench of urine. If a child is not safe in a child's play area then where? You can find the article on Kevin Archer in the October 10,1999 issue of the Midland Chronicle. Please forward this to all loving mothers, fathers and anyone who loves and cares for children! Don't think it's just McDonald's either or that this is something that just started. When my oldest son who is now 9 was small the area Burger King closed their play area for awhile for remodel because in another town there had been an incident similar to the one described above that happen @ a Burger King. A little boy had been playing in a ball pit & started complaining of his legs hurting. He later died too. He was found to have snake bites all over his legs & buttocks. When they cleaned the ball pit they found that there was a copperhead nest in the ball pit. He had suffered numerous bites from a very poisonous snake. Repost this if it scares the ____ out of you! Repost this if you care about our kids!!! AND FYI: In Florida and other places on the East Coast a group of people are putting HIV/AIDS infected and filled needles underneath gas pump handles, so when someone reaches to pick it up and put gas in their car, they get stabbed with it. 16 people have been a victim of this crime so far and 10 tested HIV positive. Instead of posting that stupid crap about how your love life will suck for years to come of you don't re-post, post this. It's important to inform people, even if you don't drive, a family member might, and what if they were next? CHECK UNDER THE HANDLE BEFORE YOU GRAB IT!!! IT MIGHT SAVE YOUR LIFE! Tell as many people as you can about this serious issue, Repost with the title: ***IMPORTANT NEWS**
Should I move right now, move later or remodel my current house? Ok I live in a 900 sq foot house 2/1. I have a 2 year old and a baby on the way. I have an armoir in my dining room because the rooms are so packed. I do not have room in my kitchen for a dishwasher. i have the best neighbors but there are NO sidewalks in my area and the schools are BAD. The homes in my area are expensive, the only house I can afford is my sized house, so if I move I have to leave the area. My family and my husbands family is in this area. My health insurance is throught the state so if I move out of state I would have to pay for prenatal dr visits and delivery out of pocket. however, I hate the dr and office that I have on my current insurnace and they are the ONLY ones that take my current insurance. If I remodel, like expand the kitchen it is not going to increase the value of the house, but if we do an extension it will, but like I said this is not a great area for schools so I really dont want my kids to grow up in this area. suggestions? thanks
Paternal Problems? I've never had a great relationship with my dad. He's always been rude and condescending to us (myself and my sister, who's a few years older than I am) and just downright mean. But over the last few months, he's gotten MUCH worse. Last night I made dinner (grilled steak and onions with roasted potatoes and then raspberry pie for dessert) and he griped about everything. He said "Damn kid, you can't do anything right!" and left the table because his steak wasn't cooked right (even though HE took his steak off the grill when he wanted to) and left the room in a fit. Then today he started yelling at me because I "didn't paint worth a damn"--we just finished a kitchen remodel and are now painting. I primed and painted every wall in the entire kitchen exactly the way he showed me to. He doesn't appreciate anything I do. He flat out tells me that I am worthless. I am sick of it, he never quits. When I tell him (politely) to knock it off, he yells at me to "be a man". He's a chauvinist pig! He's mad at me because of everything. He blames it all on me. It isn't because of stress at work--he works a standard 40 hour week at a job he loves, and he makes a really good pay ($35/hour). I've talked to my mom about it and she just blows it off too. Last night after he went to work, I told her that I am getting really sick of how he is treating me and that I would appreciate it if she would talk with him about it (because he doesn't listen to me) and she just said "Don't badmouth your father." and left. She's oblivious to the problem. I'm 17 and will be a senior in the fall, so I have another year here before I go off to college. What can I do to deal with this for the next year before I lose my mind? It's just that nothing I do is good enough. I make As in school and the rare A-/B+ and then he gets pissed off, and when my sister (who made Bs and Cs) flunks or gets a D he blows it off. A big limb fell off our tree last week in a tornado and he told me right after it happened to go out and chop it up (the tornado sirens were still sounding and we had live high voltage powerlines laying in our yard).

annoying neighbors!? Is there anyone out there who thinks there neighbors are so very annoying? When we moved in we were going to fence in our yard,,(kids) the neighbors told us we could not that they would find that offensive, then they brag about how they never get permitts to build they just dont care,, they take advantage of our yard,,we just landscaped our yard and they run ther 4 wheelers through and they move my kids outside toys around so they can get thought our yard! Then they dump lime stone in our yard and then they think they can put us down left and right. We are adding on to our house,,they feel they need to tell us that our remodeling will not help the value of our house,,,I could care less we need more room! Then they tell us they use our internet (we didnt have it blocked at the time) They act better then everyone,,,,they are in no means better then anyone,,they live in a trailer ruin there own yard,,,and are loud annoying smelly people who can never clean there house dont people get caught for not having permitts to build? They also would let there dog poop on my driveway and my kids would walk into to it,,i had to shovel it off everyday! they always feel they can put there stupid input into our business,,oh and we have a trampoline,,they told us that they are not going to put there us up this year that they will us ours instead! that made me soo mad!!!
I may be moving. My son bought a 3 family home in my present neighborhood. I need interior design advice.? It's an old style home built in 1900. Rooms a smaller than I'm use too but the home I have now is gigantic and I can't see keeping it after the kids are gone. In this new home, my youngest son will live with his wife on the 3rd floor, the home owner, my eldest son will live on the 2nd floor and my husband and I have the 1st floor. The kitchen and bath need a complete remodel. Hard wood floors and lovely door and window trim, also also finished wood. The house overlooks a marina and river. Presently my home is decorated in a Tuscan style with the use of earth elements, leather, wood and stone. Not sure it'll have the same appeal in the new place. There is also about an acre of land, fruit trees, grapevines and sun porches that overlook them. Please give me some idea's for apartment decorating. I've never lived in an apartment. I'm not into "modern", more Tuscan or I would consider something the complement the water (river). Thanks Excuse me, I meant something that compliments the river.

If you could change just one thing about your life, what would it be? I would be living somewhere else, I hate my neighborhood and the house I live in. but I feel obligated to stay here. My dad bought me a car 2 years ago and paid for my whole first year's insurance, and so when he said he was moving in with his girlfriend out of town, and could I rent his house from him so he could afford to help with his and her living expenses, I couldn't say no. But it sux here. everything leaks, the electricity is old and I have my microwave in the LIVING ROOM for God's sake, because if I use it in the kitchen, it'll blow the fuses. The nasty kids in that live around here break all my stuff. I had a beautiful garden out front with some flowers and bunnies, and a gazing ball, they smashed it, and of course, no one knows anything about who did it. and I am pretty sure I am stuck here indefinitely, as the house is not done being remodeled enough to sell it, and no progress is being made at all, and if I move out, I pretty much screw my dad. I'm really hating life now. sorry such a long rant.
This my own short story version of Stephen Kings 1408? The House on Handler Street Prologue “Please, Mike don’t rent that house” James pleaded. Mike Slim was renting a house on Handler Street supposedly the house was haunted. But Mike Slim was on vacation and he wanted to give his family a treat. He wanted to rent a very nice house for a week, and the house was very nice. James Morin was the owner of the house, he had explained to Mike that in that house thirty-six people had committed suicide. But Mike did not care he wanted a house that his family would love and what he would also love. He wasn’t in the house now; he was in the house of James Morin. Once James gave him the key to the house he would go back out to his jeep and drive his family to it. Mike got a big grin on his face and said, “I am staying there no matter what just give me the key and I’ll leave you alone. There’s nothing you can do about it. That house was in the phone book in the rental section.” James looked down with a sad look on his face and said “Ok, what ever. But if something happens to you in that house, I will come to your funeral, look into your casket and say I told you so.” James fumbled in his pocket for a second and pulled out a rusted gold key. He handed it to Mike and said, “The address is 1305 Handler Street.” Then Mike turned around and walked out of James house. But he would soon figure out that should have never grabbed that key from James Morin. Chapter 1 Mike Slim stuck in the key of 1305 Handler Street, turned it and slowly pushed it open. Once it was open his two little daughters, Lily and Virginia, ran past him into the big Victorian style house. The house was white with two stories, it did not look that big on the outside but on the inside it was huge. Mike himself walked in and looked around for a second, then put down his bag and stretched his arms. His wife walked up to him, hugged him, and said, “O thank you honey. I love it and so do the kids” Mike saw his two daughters run down the stairs playing a game of tag. He would have told them to stop running in the house, but it isn’t his house so who cares? He picked his suitcase up again and propped it on the couch and sat next to it. Across from the couch was a big screen TV, he grabbed the remote and turned the TV on. A big football game was on, he pushed two numbers on the remote and yelled for his kids. “Girlies cartoon are on!” A few seconds later the two kids came running in giggling and tripping on their non tied shoelaces. He picked his suitcase up again and walked up the stairs, walked in the master bedroom and put his suitcase on the bed. He started to unpack when his wife, Jenny, walked in and said “Honey, how bout you take some time off me and the kids tomorrow. We have something big planned for our big man” Mike looked at her and said “O baby that would be great thanks” She kissed him and walked back down the stairs. He looked up from the bed and there was a picture above the bed, it was of one green pair and it was on a brown table. It was an ugly painting the pair was old and gross. Mike didn’t like looking at it so he turned away and walked back down the stairs of the house. Once he got downstairs he looked at the table next to the couch where the girls were sitting. There on the table was an old brown gross pair. He walked over to the pair and stared at it. He turned around and yelled for his wife. She walked in and he asked, “Where did you get this pair?” He moved aside so she could see the pair but when he moved she got a mystified look on her face and said “What pair?” Mike turned around and to his surprise the pair wasn’t there. Chapter 2 Mike had on his lucky Hawaiian flower shirt on. He was driving back to the house from his break day form the kids. He had gone to the beach and a couple of shops and bought a couple of things for the kids. He had also bought a new screwdriver for himself he needed one to fix the TV back at his real home. He the finally pulled up to the house and put his car in park. He got out with the duffle bag in hand with all the stuff he bought. He went up to the door and turned the handle. Nothing happened. The door was locked from the inside. He knocked on the door and called for his wife. Nothing. He started to knock a little harder. Then he decided to call the phone in there. He pulled out his cell phone and called the number, he got the answering machine. It said, “Your family is no longer with us Mr. Slim” It startled him and he dropped the cell phone. He then went to his duffel bag and pulled out his new screwdriver. He ripped off the package and pulled it out. He put in the key slot and turned a couple of times. Then he heard a click, and without any warning the door slowly slid open. He walked in and called for his wife, nothing. He then turned the screwdriver around, so just in case someone was in the house he could stab him or her. He walked in to the kitchen and saw blood everywhere, on the walls, on the ceiling, on the ground. His eyes got wide and his mouth opened wide. He walked over to the kitchen chair and sat down in it. There was still food, maybe that was the surprise, a big dinner. In front of Mike was one single glass of water. Mike didn’t know what happened, and he didn’t want to know. He started to cry when suddenly, one single drip of blood plopped into the glass in front of him. It startled him and he looked up. On the ceiling holding on to the beams of the ceiling was a man wielding a claw hammer. He shielded his face and fell back in his chair, onto his back. He rolled onto his feet and brought the screwdriver up to his face. His eyes were really wide now and now he thinks he should have believed James to not coming into this house. He held the screwdriver tight and ran backwards to the front door. He bumped his back against it and turned around, he turned the handle and nothing happened. He became very frantic and started shaking it and then very violently started banging on the door. Then he remembered the key to the house was on the table next to the couch. He turned around and looked at the table and on it was the gross old ugly pair. He hit it off the table and grabbed the key to the door. He put the key in the door and twisted it, but when he did it broke in half. Then the rest of the key in the door slid into the door. Mike came down to the keyhole and looked in it. He saw nothing just black. He backed away from the door and turned around. His family was all sitting at the kitchen table, but they weren’t real. They looked like they were a telegraphic picture. They were all talking about when Mike was coming home and if he bought them anything. He was wide eyed and in shock so he didn’t move a muscle. Then out of no where the man on the ceiling walked next to him looked at him for a minute then walked past him to the family. He raised his claw hammer and smashed Mike’s wife’s head open. She screamed and fell to the ground. The man then reached over the table and grabbed Lily’s hair and smashed her face in with claw part of the hammer. Virginia then got up from her chair and started to run away. He threw the hammer at her and the claw part stuck into the back of her head. It all happened in one big flash of a second. The man walked over to Virginia’s dead body and pulled the hammer out of her head. He then turned around to face Mike. Mike raised the screwdriver and rushed the man with the hammer. He ran faster then he ever had before. But when he got to the man, he raised the hammer ready to kill Mike as well. Mike shielded his face with his left arm and swung his right arm that had the screwdriver in it. But he went right threw the man and fell over and hit the ground with his face. He turned over on his back and looked up. Nothing was there. He got up and looked around. Nothing was anywhere. The dead bodies of his family were gone and it was just the blood again. He held the screwdriver and walked up the stairs. He went into the master bedroom and sat on the bed. He lay down on the bed and looked up then he noticed the painting above the bed again. He turned around and looked at it carefully. This time instead of a pair on the table it was a human head. It was his wife’s head on the table. He inhaled deeply and jumped on the bed. It was defiantly her head Mike could tell. But it wasn’t normal; on the face she had a huge grin. He took a step backward and tripped over something he fell hard and jumped back up. The face had changed again, this time her face had a little smile on it. Mike walked over to a chair against the wall, picked it up and walked next to the painting. He swung the chair against the painting and the glass around it smashed. The painting fell to the bed and the paper was smudged. Mike picked it up and took the paper out of the holding and crumbled it up. He walked back down stairs to the gas fireplace, switched on the fire, and threw the paper of the painting in it. It slowly burned. Mike turned around and there sitting on the table was his wife’s head. Mike didn’t believe it was there, so he closed his eyes. When he reopened them nothing was there. He turned around again to look at the fire, and above the fireplace was the painting but this time, on the table it was his head. Chapter 3 Mike took three steps backwards and tripped over something again. He got up slowly again and turned around to face the TV. He grabbed the remote and turned the TV on. The TV screen was blank, and then suddenly the screen blared with blue. Then a picture came up it was of Mike. It was like as if a camera was watching him and now it was playing on the TV. He walked closer to the TV and looked at it. It showed him looking at the TV. He then looked at it more carefully, behind him, was the man with the claw hammer. The man raised the hammer and was about to swing it down on Mike, when he turned around swiftly. Nothing was there. Mike inhaled and turned around to the TV. The TV was blank as if he never turned it on. He walked over to the couch and sat down. Then he thought something. No wonder all those people had killed themselves. Then the TV blared on with sound. It was so loud that Mike couldn’t take it. It was no ordinary sound either; it was like a bird and a monkey screeching very loudly. He walked over to the fireplace and grabbed the fire poker and swung it at the TV. The TV smashed to little bits. He dropped the fire poker on the ground. He then also went to his knees. He began to sob quietly and softly. Then somehow the front door opened. James Morin was in the doorway. Mike turned around quickly and his eyes got wide. James stood there staring at Mike and said “I warned you about this house” The James turned around and slammed the door shut. Mike rushed up and ran for the door. But when he got there it was already shut. He started to bag and punch the door like crazy. He walked over to the fire poker and picked it up. He went to the door and tried smashing the door open. Nothing, nothing worked he was never going to get out of this house. Then he heard footsteps coming down the stairs. He turned around and the wall that separated the upstairs from the down stairs was blocking the face of the man walking down, but Mike already knew whom it was. It was the man with the claw hammer it was Mikes turn to die. He walked closer to the stairs and he saw the man’s hands come down and one of the hands held a hammer. Mike started to back up when he bumped into something. Mike turned around and there, his wife, and two daughters were hanging with a noose around their neck. Mike yelled and ran the other way. He ran into the kitchen and there was no blood, there was just food on the table. The only blood was the one in the glass cup, the one single drop of blood that fell from the hammer. Mike sat in the chair and stared at the glass with the blood in it. Then he got up and turned around. The hammer man was standing there in front of his family’s bodies. Mike’s eyes looked sleepy and drowned out. His wife and two kids really kid kill them self. The image of them getting killed was just another reason for me to kill myself, Mike thought. Mike grabbed the fire poker and walked over to the hammer man. He swung the fire poker and the poker went right threw him. But then somehow, the man hit him in the side of the head with the hammer. Mike fell to his knees and then jumped forward to tackle the hammer guy. He went straight threw him. Mike couldn’t take it anymore he was starting to freak out. He jumped up and started swinging the poker widely. He didn’t stop until he reached the kitchen. He then grabbed a big chair and smashed the kitchen table with it. He then turned around and threw the chair across the room. It hit the door and smashed completely. Mike grabbed at his hair and started to pull some of it out. He walked back to the fireplace and looked at the painting and for some reason there was a pirate ship of some sort floating in the ocean. The painting was moving the boat was rocking back and fourth. Mike walked back over to the broke chair by the front door, and picked up one of the chairs legs. He then walked over to the painting wand swung the chair leg at the painting. But before it got there, the water from the painting broke out and smashed into Mike. He fell backwards and hit his head on the metal table and it smashed. He kept on rolling until he hit the wall. He was drowning, and he had to get out of it quick. He could feel himself going deeper and deeper into the water. Then somehow he was back in the house, just like that he back in the house. Standing there staring at the TV. The TV was blank so he didn’t know why he was staring at it. But then suddenly a picture popped up. It showed Mike putting a noose around his wife and two daughters neck. Mike turned around sharply and couldn’t believe the TV. But when he turned around his wife was lying on the couch. He walked over to her and grabbed on to her. “Jenny, Jenny are you awake?” Her eyes opened and stared at Mike. “Oh my honey, I cant believe what happened in my horrible dream. I remember seeing it all. But couldn’t do anything about it. A man of some sort was hanging the kid’s and me. We died but I could see everything. I even saw you honey. I saw you try to fight that man. But don’t worry honey, you will be just as dead as I am at the end of this” Mike’s wife clamped on to his shoulder and pulled him closer to her. He pushed her off of him and back away. Then her body slowly drifted away. Mike dropped to his back and lay there thinking of how he could have stopped this. When suddenly somehow walked up to him and said “You couldn’t” He snapped around onto his knees and the man with the hammer was standing there. He swung his hammer and Mike ducked. Mike jumped backwards and ran for the kitchen. Then he remembered something. This house had an alcoholic cabinet. He ran over to it and opened it up he got out a bottle of whiskey. He ran over to the cloths cabinet and grabbed one of those out. He slipped the cloth into the bottle and grabbed a lighter out of his pocket. He walked over to the living room and the hammer man was standing there staring at Mike. Mike glared right back. Then Mike broke the silence and said “If I’m going down, your coming with me” He lit the cloth in the whiskey bottle and threw it at the hammer man. It hit in front of him and he got fire suddenly. Then Mike walked over to the kitchen and saw a pack of Marlboros. He took one out and lit it. He took one drag and walked in front of the living room. The whole living room was on fire. The hammer man was moaning for help, “Go to hell” Mike yelled. Once he was down with the cigarette he flipped it in the fire. When the cigarette hit the fire the room exploded, and the whole house caught on fire. With Mike Slim inside of it. Epilogue Firefighters slammed open the door to 1305 Handler Street. There on the ground was Mike Slim coughing and for some reason laughing his head off. He didn’t stop laughing until the firemen brought him out of the house and lay him down on the grass. The firefighters were about to go back in when Mike grabbed his uniform and said, “Don’t go in that house. Its evil” Mike Slim was rushed to the hospital and was patched up. He went home after a month in the hospital. Mike was sitting in his new house and his lawyer was there with him. “Listen Mike, you have talked to many counselors. Everything that you claimed happened in that room didn’t happen.” Mikes lawyer, Clint Jenkins, said. Mikes lawyer was walking around with a box in his hands. Mike looked up and dragged a box over to him. Mike pulled out a box of stuff they found in the house once the fire was out. Mike put his hand in the box and pulled out a videotape. He slipped the tape in the VCR and pushed play. Clint stopped walking and stood there with the box in his hands watching the TV. A picture popped up of the hammer man hanging his wife and two kids. Then it switched to Mike looking at the TV, and the hammer guy swing his hammer at Mike. Mike turning around and looking scared. Then it switched it James Morin opening the door and saying, “I warned you about this house” Clint dropped the box with his mouth wide open and his eyes also wide open. Mike looked at Clint and said “The stuff that happened in that house was real, Clint. That house was supposed to kill me Clint. I was supposed to die in that house. I am the only one who made it out alive. Clint, That house is still out there. Their going to remodel it and someone else is going to die in that house” Then Mike’s door opened and James Mori walked in. “Very impressive, Mr. Slim. But too bad you just finished level one. Time for level two” Suddenly Clint jumped up and tackled Mike. Mike closed his eyes when he fell to the ground and when he opened them he was back in the house on Handler Street. Standing in the middle of the living room, staring at the TV.
smoking help? i am in the process of remodeling and i have friends who put in alot of time, energy, tools and supplys to help me! however they are smoking in my house. i do not smoke and i have a 2 year old. i am so very greatfull for their help and i feel that if i ask them not to they wont help me anymore. they are chain smokers so if they go outside they will feel like they are not getting any work done and just give up. so my question is what do i do? just open a window and close them in the room they are working in or ask them not to smoke all together? i am so torn because it really wouldnt be all bad if it were one cig an hour but im not kidding when i say they will light a new cigerette off the other befor putting it out!
we deserve a house? My husband and I are moveing in this 3 BR 1Bath room house with Cntrl. H/A.We are renting it for 700 a month which is 200 more than where we are.We have two kids and we want them to be in a nice house in a good neighborhood, plus with the gas going high the house is only 5 min. away from his work. Our landlord is in real estate and we are hopeing to buy the house from her.But our family thinks we should find something cheaper, which are in a bad neighborhood or very run down. Its not fare my mom has a very nice house, and her family has given her a total of 8,000 dollars to remodel it.His parents bought a double wide trailer house for 800 a month, and we where happy for them, and my bf and her boyfriend bought a house and everybody is getting married. Why doesn't it feel like nobody wants us to get this house like we doesn't deserve something so nice cause of the price,we can afford it.What do I tell our friends or family what they should do with there opinion.
whats right whats wrong? my husband and i remodeled our sons benroom and now we want to go out and buy a new bed. he's still in a toddler bed. Now he has another son from his previous marriage ..Here's ther problem i'm having. My husband wants to buy bunkbeds for them.. i would think that would be a great idea if both kids were little like my son but his son is 14 and weighs about 170 or more. I'm a little nervous having his son sleeping on the top bunk over my little guy who olney weighs 34 pounds. my little guy doesnt want to sleep on the top bunk he's scared to so i suggested a trundle bed. My husband doesnt want to buy them because the last one we had broke within a month. that was because we had a thick rug in there.. we since then took up the rug and now its a wood floor. mind you his son broke the last bed by plopping on it and fell threw it.. i dont want this to happen again with my little guy under neath.. am i being mean about this?? this is my sons room his son just comes down every so often.
what can i do? ok, so today i let my 13 year old niece use my camera to take pictures of my moms birthday party. I had really important pictures on their. i recently got my house remodeled and i had to take pictures of before and after for the insurance and the tax so i can get my 10,000 dollars back. but when i got the camera the only pics i had were her. i asked what happened to my other pictures and she said "oh, i deleted them, there was only room for 20 pictures" i asked her didn't you see the pictures i had she said"yeah but their were like nasty pictures of your house before you got fixed" i was really upset because i was going to claim them for my taxes next year. could i get in trouble for this? could i go to jail? what do i tell the insurance office? would they think it was fraud? i never got a chance to save them on my computer! i am really upset and i don't know what to do! i have 2 kids
Real Estate Question? We have a FOR SALE BY OWNER sign in our front yard. Well, yesterday a man came up here and asked if we would pay him 3% for him to bring a buyer to the table. He then proceeded to say that it was ridiculous to ask 170k for our house. It has 3 bedrooms, 1.5 bath, a crystal chandelier in the dining room, a small shed, a huge 2 story shed and a dog house with, I kid you not, heating and air. It is a brick ranch style house that was completely remodeled two years ago. Is that too much to ask for our house? We live in a very nice neighborhood. Up the road like a mile away, houses go for like 500k. I checked that website and there is a house like 6 houses away for 175k. As for the realtor, he came up knocking on my door and said "I'm A.W. Myers" That gave me nothing. I have yet to hear of this man. And I have asked.
