Camping Room Ideas for a Toddler Boy? Our son has a camping theme room, fairly good size room. We painted it Limey Grassy Green and it has tan carpet and white ceilings with a white ceiling fan. He has 2 giant Leaves over his light wooden twin bed (leaves are from Ikea). He has camping themed bedding and bug sheets (although I'd be interested in finding another set of the bug sheets - we got the bedding set from Target on clearance a couple years ago). He has a matching lamp with scout patches on it. He has a nightstand and a dresser with a mirror on it. My dad is making him a canoe bookshelf (either red or navy blue). He just has regular blinds on his windows right now. Oh, and a big green bug light on his wall. Along the wall that the big leaves and his bed is on, we have his name letters - navy blue from Pottery Barn Kids. Any ideas for things to put on his dresser and bookshelf? Also, we could use 1 or 2 big pictures for his wall!

Ideas for decorating the walls in our family room; black & white pictures of the kids, or artwork? I'd like to update our family room walls a bit, but can't decide if I should put pictures of our kids all over or artwork? If artwork, should it be all from the same artist? Also, thoughts on the large iron barn stars, too country? Our a large wall clock? The room is kind of small... I have brown suede couches, goldish-tan paint on the walls. In particular I have a four foot space above the couch which is in between two large windows - this could be a space for a barn star, or clock, or ? Also, we have one large wall without couches underneath, just a leather chair/side table at the edge of the wall. How do I make something look like it belongs there and not just floating? My style is kind of modern country, I like the look in Pottery Barn. Any ideas on how to make a room look together? Thank you!
Ideas for a KIDS SPACE THEMED ROOM? My nephew has just been born, 4 weeks old, and his mother wants a cute space themed room, martians, aliens, planets, spaceships, etc. She wants the room to last for about 5 years or so. Any ideas?? She is having A LOT of trouble trying to find a place in Australia or on the internet to buy space themed bed sheets, etc. ANY IDEAS ON PAINTING, STENCILS, MOBILES, ETC ARE WELCOME! :) Thankyou THEME: Outer Space IDEAS CAN BE EITHER DIY OR BUY.
help with painting ideas for teen hang out room? We are redecorating our kids playroom and need some ideas. We have 4 boys, 14, 14, 12 and 9. They all love skateboarding and baseball. We even built them a half pipe in the backyard for skating. I was thinking of doing the walls white with red trim and then doing some type of cool pattern in black on the bottom half of the wall such as black stripes or black designs Or maybe writing in bubble letters across the bottom "Skate" or something. I don't want to do tons of graffiti that will make the room look messy or dirty. Any specific ideas? I got some cool skateboarding posters and decals for the walls. well I think white and red are normal colors. We wanted to add some black to just make it more cool I guess. we actually bought a wall decal very similar to the one you linked to.

Kid's room decorating ideas!? My husband and I are in the process of buying a new house and really excited about decorating my girl's room and their playroom. Right now their room is butterflies (purple and yellow), I love it, but I think since we're going to have to paint when we move anyway, I'd like to do something new. I want something girly, but not over the top (no pink frills and lace please). And I don't want anything commerical (princess is OK, disney princess, as much as my 3 year old loves it, is a no go). Does anyone have any ideas or know any good websites I can look through pictures of kids rooms for some ideas? Thanks!
anybody have any godd ideas for a young boys room? i have the paint it is john deere green and yellow i need to find something to do as a border but cant find any john deere stuff thats looks like it would be good for kids room......please help!
Painting the kids bedroom...? 4 kids will be sharing a bedroom. 2 boys both (4) and 2 girls (5) and (7). They are siblings and my friend only gets to have them once in a while but still wants to fix up a room for them thats theirs. Anybody have any ideas how we can paint and fix the room up?Any theme ideas that will work for both genders?
Ideas on paint colors for family room? We have 3 kids, and put an addition on our house w/ a half basement. The basement will be a bedroom for my oldest, a bathroom and a family room. The family room will be more for the kids, but also for the adults to hang out when we have company etc, and for guest to sleep. We are going to put all kids toys down there, game stations etc. so they can do all that down there. I am having trouble with what color to paint the walls now. I was thinking maybe picking a small wall and painting the lower half with the chalk board paint so kids can draw and we can leave notes etc. Not 100% sure on that one yet but it's an idea. I was also thinking of maybe a slate blue or somthing for rest. * My couch is a black leather couch, we have 2 leather cream color swivel chairs w/ ottomans. * Our trim will be a light oak. I don't really have any other decor that I want in there yet, so I really don't have like a favorite pillow or painting with a color etc. that I may want to grab to go from that I may want to use as wall idea or anything. So pretty much starting from scratch here.
I would like to paint a "white board" in the kids' room. What kind of paint? My sister in law painted a "black board" in her kids' rooms so they can draw and do their homework on the wall. It was a great idea. I want to do the same but with a white board. Can that be done?
Do i need to sand and/or primer wall before painting? I want to paint my kids rooms in different color. Right now their rooms have white flat paint. What do I need to do to prepare walls for re-painting them ? Do I have to use primer? Do I need to sand them? Or just paint? In kids bathroom, which I'm planning to paint too, paint is glossy. I have no idea if it's oil or latex. I want paint to be glossy in the bathroom, I just want to change color. What do I do to achieve good result?
I have a boy and girl, sharing a room.. need some decorating ideas? Well the room is not very big, they have natural wood beds and dressers, the beds actually convert into single beds or can be stacked to make a bunk bed. The walls are painted light yellow, and they each have their own character bedding, and I have blue/yellow curtains but it just doesn't feel like a cozy room where kids would want to play! What are some ideas to bring life into this bedroom? My kids are going to be 6 and 4
Do your kids' rooms look like those in magazines and interior decorating books? I've found that even after all the painting and decoration and accessories, my kids' rooms don't look much like those in interior decor books. I am talking about the books with simple ideas for regular people on an average budget. The kids and I decorate/plan together, and we are very happy with the end results, but the rooms just look ordinary. So, does your kid's room look like those in magazines and interior decor books? Or, does it look nice but "ordinary"?
Should I paint my tiny room a dark color? I am thinking of painting my room a dark color but I'm scared that I will end up hating it due to the fact that my room is very small and I don't want to feel "suffocated" by it. At the moment my room is basically white but it has a very faint hint of lavender in it, the ceiling and trim are an off white. My room is small but it has some features that help it seem bigger: I have high slanted ceilings, I have one HUGE window that practically covers one entire wall from floor to ceiling..and I get a TON of light from that window, my room is the brightest in the house, I hardly need to turn on a light, and it stays pretty bright as long as the sun is up. Since it's small I don't have much furnishings in it, just a small bedside table (white), and a medium sized tall dresser (white), and then my bed which is a full and is decorated with light covers and pillows. I was really considering painting my room a deep purple/grape, like a very dark purple but not black. Light enough to tell that it's obviously purple but not light like a kids room painted purple. Or I was thinking of painting it a deep raspberry maybe with a faint hint of maroon in it, but more dark raspberry/pinkish. So is this a horrible idea, should I just stick with painting it a light color? Thanks for reading and any thoughts are welcome :]. Well I live in southern California, it's pretty much really sunny all year round. So I get tons of sunlight. Oh and idk if this helps at all but I'm 18 and just want a more maturish room and I love dark colors i'm just not sure if my room could pull it off.
Have Any Ideas? Ok, so I have the smallest room in the house. I`m going to paint my room so it doesn`t look like a little kids room anymore w/ the little paintings of flowers and kittens and stuff like that that your mom painted. (I`m grown out of that!) Do you have any good ideas for a paint color that would make my room look a lot larger? That last time we measured my room, it was...8' 13" on all sides. I thought about putting my bed on the floor but any other decorating or painting ideas come to mind? Thanks My walls are rippled, and the blue we tried in there didn`t look so hot, or cold shoul I say...but ya so no blue answers plz.
How to simply make over a office/lounge in a weekend- decorating ideas please!? Ok, time for a new look... The rooms in question are my bedroom and my lounge office area (same area). Mostly the office/lounge room needs some work... This is like a 2nd/3rd lounge room in the house (others arent mine) not a main one so simple with my own little touches (autographs paintings etc..) I get all inspired to make it better and then... I get stuck in the ideas process! There is a large jarrah workbench which is fixed to one wall, a big tv, few computers (only one in use) cupboards.. one lounge chair... I have heap of autographs which I should do something with.. the walls are blue, like kids room blue - YUK! I dont know if I can paint them though so maybe I should blend the room to dull the walls a bit till I can paint them. Is there any websites with layout ideas, and simply effective ideas for layouts of room etc.. I need some inspiration from somewhere.
OK, sorry another questio about painting! this time, its about what colour to paint a kids bedroom!? Its quite a small room, and i dont want to do the ordinary blue (they are both boys, so thats too boring and original!). I want something a bit different, any ideas?
How can I paint a room for a Sunday School to look like a theatre? My church is revamping our SS classrooms. One room is to be a theatre like room for the kids to act. In the room, we have a stage already built up against one wall. I would like it to look like the inside of a theatre maybe with christian based movie posters on the walls. All painting will be from floor to ceiling which includes all doors. Any ideas?

Ideas on decorating a shelf that my kids wrote on? I have this shelf that looks like a house. It is white and my kids have written on them with a perm. sharpie. It's made of pressed board with an overlay. So, I can't paint it. I don't want to throw it away because it is very cute. I've thought about lacing it with tuille or something like that. I'm redoing their room. I've also thought about marabou. But, I'm afraid that it would get ruined when I went to wipe it down to clean it. Got any good ideas that are pretty inexpensive?
What colors or design should I use to paint a daycare room? I run a daycare from my home, and we are building a new room just for the daycare. What color should I paint the room? I have a light gray flooring. I want the room to be fun for the kids. I need some good ideas for a creative childcare space. Should I paint the ceiling, too?
Have any decorating ideas for my daycare room? I just started with 11-24 month old children and i kinda got thrown into a room that was already fixed up and painted wall characters....how can i make it more my own and more updated and fun for the kids?

whats a good idea for re painting my room? (colour, style, patterns etc.)? im a girl but dont want overly feminine colours, want it to be stylish, fun, bright or just to stand out slightly as oposed to neutral colours and plain style. im a teenager so nothing for younger kids
Redecorating the kids' playroom, any ideas?!? We have a bathroom, a guest room, home theater and another big area in the basement. We use the big area for a TV/game system room as well as play room with all the kids toys and crafts. It's currently painted a pale green colour with white carpeting. We want to keep the carpets, but re-paint the walls a friendlier colour. We're also looking for storage ideas that are convenient. We currently have boxes labeled all over the basement and before bed all the toys have to go in the designated boxes. I was thinking of buying several of these "rope totes" http://akimages.crossmediaservices.com/dyn_li/150.150.75.0/Retailers/ToysRUsCanada/090301ENG_BRU_206E_3a.JPG and labeling the front with words and pictures and having the kids put everything in there. We also have a mini table set up in the corner of the play area with play doh, paints and crayons... and it usually gets all over the place and I'm wondering how we can minimize mess there. We want to get this done ASAP, because I'm expecting our fifth in November and I don't want to be very pregnant while painting and shopping for furniture.... We're also planning to sell all the old and broken toys (along with our "spring garage sale" and all the clothes that don't fit).
Ideas on how to turn a basement into a little place for kids? I was thinking on creating different spaces for them. A kitchen/dining room, living room, office, and possibly a bedroom area. I was thinking of dividing the "rooms" with king size sheets, hung in a neat manner. Our basement isn't finished or anything (drywall/paint, etc) but is in good enough shape to have a little fun with it. I don't know if I am allowed to paint or put anything on the floor (except carpet...not tacked down) And ideas, thoughts, tips? It doesn't have to be perfect....my little ones are just happy to have a place to play. Budget is small~creativity is limitless. THANKS!
Hey everyone! Is this a cute idea for a kids room decoration? Here is the website of the one i wanted to do. (polka dots) I cant think of anything else since we are renting and cant paint and dont have many options. But i really want to do some decorating for her. Is this cute or corny? And if anybody has any other decorating tips or options then by all means im all ears! :) Thanks for the tips http://www.brightstarkids.com.au/index.cfm/fuseaction/product.display/product_id/22/Polka-Dot-Wall-Stickers-%7C.htm Heres a picture of my daughters bed set, if you turn it over it is polka dots. think it would match? http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee246/robandtiff2005/?action=view&current=DSC05617.jpg Maybe I could add more lavendar purple in the room, Like a rug or curtain? Think it would still go together or no... Thanks for the links!
Im not sure what color to paint my room i want it to have a clean look to it im 14... Any suggestions? Im tired of having a pink, purple princess like room . My room is underconstrustion and this is how its going to stay till im at least 18 so i don't want it to be a little kids room i want it to have a clean relaxing look to it. Ideas to decorate sunday school childrens room..? ages 3-7 the little kids as we call them.. we recently painted the room a light green but i dont like it! i prefer something bright or what else can i do to make the room fun and that they will like it..
Decoration/Paint Ideas Please!!? I'm moving into my first apartment (yay!) and I need some advice...I have a lot of pictures that I don't want to tape to my wall like a seventeen-year-old girl would...but how can I put them up without being cluttered or tacky? Also, I have no idea what to do for paint...I don't want blue, pink, or red... I'm twenty and am ready for a big kid look for my room! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Any ideas on how to hide water pipes and other stuff on the ceiling of an unfinished basement without drywall? We have an old house with old water pipes and wiring - it wouldn't be very smart to drywall over all of that in case something breaks and we need to get to it. I am wanting to fix up our basement good enough for a play room for our kids - I can paint the walls and put carpet down, but I don't know how to hide all the "stuff" on the ceiling!!I also have a very limited budget to work with!! Help!!
Any ideas for a craft/class room? I have 3 children (ages 3-6). I am finishing a room in the basement for our craft room / class room. The room is 12'x24'. Due to the floor being VERY unlevel and wanting to create division (between the "kids side" and "my side"), we have build a step up platform that we are going to install hardwood - it's the back 11 feet of the room. On the kids side, I'm thinking about leaving concrete and using rugs?? I plan on building a 4' half wall with a 32" walk-thru opening to enter "my side". I want the "wall" to actually be used as storage. It would be a 4' section on the left, and a 5' section on the right, being approx 28" deep to serve as cubbies on both sides of the wall. And a sold "counter top" to serve as additional work/play space. I also want to include a magnet/chalkboard painted one section of the "kids side" wall. I thought about framing a peg board also but not sure if I want to display my supplies. I possibly, eventually want to homeschool so I'm trying to plan ahead. Do you have any ideas for the layout/design for a craft room. My side will contain: sewing machine, fabric, scrapbooking items, etc. Kid side will contain; books, puzzles, paint, crayons, paper, etc, 3 desk or 1 kid size table, possible tv. I don't really want a "play room" but a learning room. Thanx
I need ideas for a pink & brown bed room for an adult.? I have a pink & brown bed set that i need ideas for. I am in my mid 20's as well as a mom. I have looked for ideas but have only been able to find kid or teen ideas. My bed set is a rich (darker) brown and a bright pink. It's not a soft pink, nor is it neon but it is a vivid pink....any ideas would be great!! I will be painting next week...hopefully!
Decorating ideas? I am wanting to decorate the whole house from bathrooms to the kids rooms ( boy 4 & girl 8 months). Does anyone have any cheap decorating ideas that are "kid friendly". I am not wanting a lot of stuff setting around on coffee tables, because it will just get taken off or broken by the kids. We recnetly painted the walls white.
Is it a good idea to paint on old floors like press wood? We replaced the carpet in most of our house with hardwood but kept the carpet in our kids rooms because the money was tight. Well now, while painting in our oldest daughters room we had an accident so we had to remove the carpet. I cant afford to replace the carpet or put hardwood down now so I want to just paint the floor and use rugs as a temporary fix. The problem is the floors of this house are presswood (horrible stuff). So will this work at all, and if so how should we go about it?
I need some help in painting my kids' room! I can't decide!? My kids are on vacation and will be back in four days. I decided to redo their bedroom as a surprise. They are crazy about Littlest Petshop, so I bought wallpaper border, stickers, and comforters. Now I can't decide how to paint it! Right now their room is done with Disney Princess border with blue on top with clouds so that it looks like the sky, and pink on the bottom. They like dark blue. The Littlest Petshop border I have is mostly pink. Their room has a VAULTED CEILING, so it makes it very difficult to figure out what to do. I am thinking maybe I should NOT do the border at all and just do one wall bright pink and another wall dark blue (since those are the Littlest Petshop colors). I don't know, what should I do? I'm running out of time. Here are some pictures to get an idea of what I am looking at: http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/vv59/jouwhoo/31nEkBBChAL__SS400_.jpg http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/vv59/jouwhoo/41bPvVRSpcL__SS400_.jpg http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/vv59/jouwhoo/51dSmdJv4fL__SS500_.jpg http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/vv59/jouwhoo/Littlest-Pet-Shop-Game-littlest-pet.jpg Here are some pictures of what I have been thinking about doing: http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/vv59/jouwhoo/paint11room.jpg http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/vv59/jouwhoo/paint13room.jpg http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/vv59/jouwhoo/paint18.jpg http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/vv59/jouwhoo/paint20.jpg http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/vv59/jouwhoo/paint22.jpg http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/vv59/jouwhoo/paint8.jpg

Suggestions for window coverings in kids' rooms? Right now we have cheap mini blinds from when we moved in last year. Looking to replace in kids' rooms, especially since we lose a lot of hear thru windows in the winter. I'm thinking about thermal roman shades for both rooms, but not positive. My kids are 1 and 2 years old so I was steering away from curtain that can be pulled down. Any ideas/suggestions as to what looks nice in a kid's room? Both rooms are painted in fairly bright colors (one blue, one green) with white trim and carpet, so I was thinking about white for the window coverings, too.
ideas about redecoration my room? im a teen into music, and i'm sick of all the kid stuff in my room that's been in there for so long, i'm getting rid of most of it and storing it away, but now i'm going to redecorate to make it more me. any ideas or suggestions. i'm also painting it, so color suggestions? and i'm not doing any 'theme' i just want ideas to make it more creative and what not. like collages on the wall or something. thanks guys, but i'm not to into the music note theme.. and i'm not to OLD for my room, i just have all my stuff in there from what say since i was like seriously FIVE and i need to declutter it like that. get rid of all the stuffed animals and random toys in my closet, you know, that's cool about glueing other eyes and mouths onto the singers face. interesting... i like the artsy suggestions. :D yeah, i could tack up old cd's on the wall.
Will it look good if I paint my 4 yr old son's room one wall yellow and the rest blue.? I need some ideas. He loves trains. Im confused about the two color scheme. is it a good idea or should i stick to one color. I want to highlight one wall with yellow and the rest blue. Waht are the kids safe paints available (brands?) I have never painted before, so what tools do I need and what techniques to follow? Or is it better to call prof painters? thanks
Paint Ideas to go with Pottery Barn Chase Bedding? Ok...dilemma. I am using the pottery barn kids chase bedding in my nursery. Not crazy about painting all the walls blue, I think that would be too much blue. I was going to go with a light neutral color on all walls...but kind of wanted something unique and different. Do I do a chair rail? If so, what colors??? Should I do an accent wall of blue??? Are chair rails not okay to have in smaller rooms? Painting a kids table ladybugs? I don't have a lot of money to spend on my daughters Christmas this year so I bought a kids table from Ikea that is unfinished Pine. I wanted to paint it white with ladybugs on it to match her room but I have no idea how to go about it. I am worried about using the wrong kind of paints and about maybe finding an easy way to make the ladybugs cute, since I am not artistic. I would also like to find a way to make it easy to clean since she will be using her table to eat, and to draw and paint. Any suggestions yall have would be great. I really do want this to be something special for her. Thanks again.
I need help with decorating ideas for a shared bedroom. My three kids will share a small bedroom. Ideas? They will be moving into a 10 x 10 bedroom. They are ages 6,8, and 10...all girls. We will be purchasing the Arts and Crafts "L" shaped loft bed from American Signature Furniture and will put one additional bed underneath. We will be moving into an older home...my kids call it a "cottage". We will be decorating in the Arts and Crafts style and their bed will be a dark stained wood color...like chocolate. Any ideas on decorating? The colors the kids came up with were white, black, and blue. I was thinking of painting one wall chalkboard black so they could have a place to draw. Any other great ideas? I also thought about installing a semi circle rod above the closet door to create a changing space. The other furniture in the room will be one tall (currently white wicker but open to painting) Armour and dresser. We will use under the bed storage for my daughter who will have her bed under the loft. I know there are some great ideas out there...care to share thoughts on how to decorate? Looking for clean, crisp, childlike ideas...
any ideas what paint colour will look best with a black and grey fleck carpet? the carpet is a thick pile carpet which goes in my hall through to my living room.not sure what colour to go on walls as i dont want it to look cold as it is a family home.i will probably go for a black or grey fabric suite as cream is not practical with kids.any suggestions?

Could I make a rec room for my kids? So i rent my house, it's a two storey side x side and the basement is not finished. I was thinking of painting the walls down there white, covering the cement flooring in those funky foam squares that daycares use and setting up a couple couches and tv/dvd player, playstaion, and all my kids toys down there so they could have a rec room. Of course I would use a plug in heater for warmth. They are 10 and 7. Is this a good idea?? Just thought i'd ad, we will more than likely be here forever(lol) and my landlord is awesome and lets us doing anything to the house(painting and such)
I need some decorating tips for a kids bedroom? We are moving into an apartment and my kids will be sharing a room. They are a four year old boy and a two year old girl. I need some decoration ideas for their bedroom that I can do in an apartment. I know I can't paint or nail too much stuff to the walls.
Teen room decorating ideas? I'm 14, the walls will be painted purple, and my desk, bookshelf, and dresser are white. I like my furniture so I'm not going to spend loads of money to replace them. I'm really into music (I play guitar, drums, and keyboard) so I would like to incorprate that in the theme a bit. 2 things that I've found so far are: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/235871/not_just_for_kids_craft_how_to_make.html?image=87237&cat=24 and http://www.bhg.com/decorating/budget-decorating/cheap/low-cost-home-decorating-with-paper/?page=2 (but with different paper) I would like to organize these 2 things(and hopefully others) in a 3x4 pattern on the wall. I thought it would be cool to hang a few of these from the ceiling: http://www.ehow.com/how_4570_make-cd-disco.html I'm rather artsy so I would prefer that most of the stuff would be home made. So...any ideas? Thanks in advance:)
I need advice on how to decorate our sons' playroom with a medieval knights theme.? We are decorating our sons (ages 8 and 20 months) with a medieval knights theme. We have 2 large MegaBlok castles that will be set up in the room (well continuously set up and torn back down again) as well as a castle bouncer ball pit that my 20 month old will be getting for Christmas so we thought we would take those large toys and base our them on that since they will be such a large part of the room. I want to limit the expense as much as possible so I'm looking for inexpensive, creative ideas to make this a really fun room the kids will love to be in. I've seen lots of beautiful murals for ideas but they are really expensive and I am not a painter by any means so I need ideas for painting or decorating the wall, what to make to fit the theme to store toys in or place books or games on, etc. Thanks!!!

How can I paint a world map on my kids bedroom wall? I would like to paint a large world map onto one of the walls in my boys bedroom, I really believe that kids should know about other countries and where they are etc, plus my kids are really interested in this. Does anyone know where I can get a large worldmap stencil or any other ideas on how to get the map on the wall reasonably accurately? Any other suggestions on further brightening up the room with a 'world' theme would be appreciated - it is a very large room which both my boys share.

Selling my house, where do I begin? I'm disabled, live alone and still dealing with effects of Katrina. I need to sell my home so I don't lose it but don't know where to begin. It's a cute house, but needs several minor repairs and clean up. Pressure washing house and drive, minor plumbing, carpet pulled up and lino put down in 2 rooms; is stained, some painting. The fence is broken at the bottem from the kids and dogs next door. If some repairs aren't done how much does that effect the selling price, or do they overlook some things? I can't find a hanyman despite asking everywhere in town. Seems they are all working on bigger construction since the area is booming. Is it difficult to handle the sale myself? Ideas as to what % realtors get? Does the equity/check come directly to me right after the sale? I have a student loan that is overdue, though I paid regularly before I had my accident. My dire needs have to come first right now.Any chance 'they' could take that before or after I receive it? Thanks
remodeling my basement/computer room...? After taxes come back I am giving up my computer room so my oldest daughter can have her own room. I am moving my stuff into my basement and I am undecided as to what to paint on the walls. Out of these ideas, what one should I go with? 1. Have my kids each paint a picture of their choice on the wall where my computer desk will go. 2. Have them put their hand prints on the wall behind where my computer desk is going to go and make a big heart. 3. Try to paint their portrait on the wall and have them each put their hand print next to the image.
What are your favorite decorating ideas for a childs room? We just bought our first house!!! We will be moving in at the end of June, so I am going to start planning how to decorate. First step.....get the kids situated. We have a 4 year old girl who loves bugs. I found a pretty quilt in a range of purple's and also a sheer purple curtain. I am looking for any great ideas, space saving tips, or decorating info. We have another girl who is 1 1/2. I have a Strawberry Shortcake bedspread and I made matching curtains (they were my 4 year olds). Both rooms are pretty small, but they both have one window. We are on a very tight budget, so it'll be alot of do-it-myself. I am happy to paint, build things, and I sew. I'd love to hear the cute ideas you have seen or how you have decorated.

Thanks I inquired about renting it, but my ins.co was quite rude and said the homeowner MUST reside in the house as primary residence, and they do not offer a 'fire' or rental policy. We cannot switch ins.co. because none are accepting new clients in La. I was denied an equity loan though I have a lot of equity in it, as my credit rating dropped a lot after the storms, as most people's did. Any ideas?

What are some good teenage bedroom ideas? Im 15 years old (16 in january)! and right now my room is painted purple, blue, and lime green. which was cool.....untill i turned like 11. the only problem is i dont know what colors to do. the thing is, i have white dressers and what not, and white carpet. my favorite colors are blue and pink. but i really dont want a little kid kind of room. and i dont want it to be too bright of a room because that just kinda screams 'little kid' to me, but not too dark either. idk and i really kinda want it to go with my ugly white furniture. any ideas??
Painting a bedroom in the basement? We have a room in our basement my dad built when we were kids ( now 25 ) We live in northern Indiana so we dont have huge flooding problems ( at least were I live ) and our basement doesn't have much water problems like leaks or anything. I want to help my dad repaint the room and bring it up to date but he doesnt think priming is necessary and I do. Tho the basement is fairly dry I think it would be a good idea to prime with a sealant type paint before we begin painting and it helps keep stains from the old paint from coming through right? Any ideas?

Help! Paint and Primer peeled off the wall!? I am painting my son's bedroom, which previously had murals on it. To be safe I sanded down the uneven parts and put a gray gripper primer on the wall made specifically for dark and bright colors. The paint scheme he has going in his room is a complicated red/black combo (stripes, checkers etc). Both the paint and primer are for active rooms (kids' rooms), semi gloss and are made by Glidden. When I went to take the tape off for the striped wall not only did pieces of the red come off, but the primer came right up with it. I am left with a beautiful red wall with ugly flourescent green tears on it. It literally ripped up like paper. I waited 2 days between the primer being applied and the paint being applied, and the paint was allowed to dry for 2 days as well. Any idea why this happened? Is there any easy fix? I don't want to have to purchase more primer, sand paper etc and start all over again. Please help.
What do you think of in a play room doing one wall with chalk board paint, and... cont.? chalk board paint on one entire wall, and cork board about a foot wide band around the top to hang "art and crafts". I am trying to convince a handfull of people that this is a great Idea for the kid(s)(3 year old and the rest to come lol).. its cheap and it will last a long time. id rather contain the mess to just that wall than the whole entire house. *bigger older house lots of wood work* and I am very creative and just want to help my child(ern) be that way. thanks everyone! the table is a great Idea as well.... I tend to have a ton of kids over at my home all the time, family, and friends and what have you. so thank you thank you!!!!
How to section off a playroom space in a living room? Hi, My husband and I just bought our first home, a beautiful condo. It's a split-level, with two bedrooms, kitchen, and living room upstairs and a large family room downstairs. Since we're moving from a tiny apartment, I'm excited about having "adult" space. However, we don't have a designated play room. I want my daughter to have some space for her painting easil, kitchen, and other toys where I'm not freaking out about the carpet or what not. We're thinking about using a part of the large downstairs living room...block off a section somehow or designate a piece as her area. Has anyone done that? Or should I use a different part of the house as that is the lower level? (I don't want it to feel like she's banished to the corner of the basement.) How can I make a kid-friendly space without losing all of my adult space? How do I block it off enough without making it seem unaccessible to a toddler? Does anyone have any creative storage ideas? Thanks! Kristy W
