At what age should I separate my kids into own beds/room? Do you own twins? boy/girl twins? or Irish twins like myself. My 2 kids are 12.5 months apart in age. They slept in their own rooms until this recent move in late April/may. They are 2.5/3.5 yrs old. boy and girl. They refuse to sleep in separate rooms, much less diff beds. They sleep in a double bed...and since they actually hate touching ea other, I have the bed turned so that they sleep in it horizontally, so it is wider..and shorter, but since kids..they don't notice the length. and have a body ,long pillow down the middle, so they won't bump into one another, cos they hate that. However, they won't sleep alone, no matter what I try. Is this weird? and at what age do you think I should 'make' them sleep alone? I mean they see mommy n daddy sleep together..so it has to be hard on their brains to understand why they have to sleep alone. Parents of siblings only respond or will get a thumbs down. omg, i only now reread question and saw i typed 'own' twins.. omg...not what I meant..please don't osterize me!! I meant 'have' wow, thanks for sooo many great answers and responses. Have made my husband esp feel better. He slept in same bed w/his brother for years and has 4 of them, so this was really his 'concern' I know an old friend that lived in subsidised housing and had many kids and she wasn't allowed to let boys sleep in same room as girls etc.. but yet lived virtually free....those who dont have that have to make kids share rooms. However, I live well off..it is just mine want to share.. anyway.. to one who asked what 'irish twins' are... it is when having siblings 12 or less months apart...common in ireland...catholics... :) ideally in the same year. say had a baby jan 3rd 2007 and birthed another baby 12/07.. anyways, this is going to be hard to choose best answer!
Is having a different rule about food in the family room for kids with a 10 y age diff. a double standard? My stepfather got on my 17 year old brother's back about eating in the family room, because his kids, our half-sisters, the eldest of whom is 6 1/2, aren't allowed to. The rule for him had, I thought, stood at 'no eating in the family room before the kids go to bed', which is what the adults in the house (me, mum and stepfather) do. He accused Mum of holding a double standard for suggesting it wasn't fair that my brother follow the same rule as the little ones. My brother usually cleans up after himself, the girls don't. Who was right?

Having trouble putting two kids to bed in the same room? We have two kids, a daughter who is almost 3, and a son who is 8 months old. Today for the first time I moved his crib into her room (we only have a two bedroom house). They have been up laughing and "talking" the whole time. We put them down at 7:15ish, and they are still up at 10:15. What have you all done in this situation?
How long should my kids room together? My kids are only 2 and 3 years old. I have read that little ones sleep better and longer if they room in together. The article also said it was great for bonding and development as well. We have a large house with extra bedrooms but we and the kids prefer that they stay together. (they have seperate beds) A "friend" was over the other day and said that I am lucky that no one has called social services on me since I have a boy and a girl in the same room. Does anyone know if there are specific rules or laws about this?(we are in Michigan if that makes a difference) And also, barring any legislation on the matter, how long do you feel that children of the opposite sex can/should share a bedroom? Thanks so much!
Frustration shopping for kids bedding? I would like to begin planing my 3 year olds room decor before the baby comes. I thought I'd start with the linen and go from there. I've encountered 2 problems. The first being that the crib converted into what is now his double bed. Full sized linens for kids, however, is hard to find. The other problem is my son LOVES trains, but I cannot find train themed linen other than Thomas which only seems to come in single. I've even look at fabric stores - I'm lucky have a sister who sews - but no luck. Any suggestions of where I should be looking or applications that I should try to immulate my own linen pattern? I'm in Canada FYI.

Can 2 adults and 3 kids stay in a one room hotel in New York? Hi, We live in Florida and we always can just get one hotel room (2 queen beds) for 5 persons when we vacation. We do online reservation and we just enter 2 adults+ 2 kids (instead of 3 kids) . When we get to the reserved hotel, there is no problem even though they see 5 of us. How strict is New York hotels? Can we reserve for just one room or we have to get two rooms? By the way, any recommended for a decent midtown Mahattan hotels? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Do you keep your kids toys in their room or do they tend to make their way into the living room? My son has a lot of toys, he has a bunch in his room but he has a toy kitchen, workbench and piano that stay in the living room. i feel like it's being over run by toys..lol. so do you keep some in the living room and some in their bed room or do they stay in one spot? we live in a fairly small apartment and it's getting over run. any suggestions? my sons bed is actually in our room because he tends to get up in the middle of the night and jump in bed with us. he's only 2 1/2 so it doesn't bother me that he sleeps in our room...yet.
is it right 4 a dad of 2bys1grl to move his gf of2 mos in2 his 3br tra.andgive his kids beds&rooms 2 her kids? he has only been dating her 2 mos and he asked her to move in they moved in this past weekend he took my kids established bedrooms &beds and gave them to her kids. r kids r 2 boys and 1 girl and he expects them to share a room or just switch sheets btween kids at the end of the weekends i dont think they should move in yet they should both be thinking of their kids not themselves r kids r 12 10 and 3 hers r 10 and 11and they could just not do it or they themselves give up their room and sleep on the sofa bed and give our kids rooms and beds back and give their room to her kids whats ur opinion we r also not divorced yet i dont mind the dating but moving a woman u barely knoew in with ur kids and the 2 boys r special needs also.so their is a lot more other issues for one i know my spelling and punctuation r bad but hey working with a limit here and to help clarify some. my 2 sons had 1bed room, and my girl had1 ,he had 1 .she moved in and her kids now have their own rooms and my exand her have their room leaving my kids with none unless they all share the same (opposite sexes) and as to it not bing my business to him asking her to move in .it is when my kids r concerned and i also touched base with her kids i dont think shes right to move in it hurts her kids also i never said it was her kids fault and do not blame them i lay blame where it belongs at his and her feet . my solution for her kids was for my ex and his girlfriend to give up their room to her kids my kids r 2 boys and 1 girl hers r 2 boys the rooms in the trailor r very small.and they my ex and her to sleep on the sofa bed (she at her old place gave the rooms there to her kids and she slept in the living room )if she can do that for her kids then he and she can do it for our kids . incase of any confusion they do live with me (i will b getting a lawyer though to get custody arrangements worked out)and i am referring to when they visit him on the weekends .but they have had these rooms since he moved into the place hes at (10 months ago).i just wanted to state that and also i guess to add more to the question is it ok for me to keep the kids from going there because of the situation i never went through this and just want to know what is the best for me to do for my kids i dont want them hurt .so let me know i am vey bothered by this and i just want whats best for our kids.
PLZ someone give me advice ?????????????? centepedes and millipedes in my kids room? About 2 months ago i puuled out my kids beds to clean and found lots of 'wiggly worms.' I killed them and bleached the skirtin boards and that was that. My flat is extremley damp and my son as asthma. 4 days later they were back. I have to clean all the time but they dont go!!! I thought they were silver fish but comparing them to the silver fish i get in the bathroom they are not. I have looked on the internet and found they are centepedes or millipedes. What can i do. Will the council move me know this proves my place is damp?
What should I do about the mold in my kids room? We have lived in our apartment for almost three years. Pretty much the whole time we've been there my three year old and one year old have been sick, including my wife and I. We told the complex that there was mold on our kids ceiling and that they we're pretty sick. Well they came in and painted over the area. Then we turned the furnace on and man we all got sick, so we complained again. This time they came in said there was no mold and that the only heath issue was that we needed to clean our place. That was about three weeks ago and we have just noticed that there is alot more mold on our kids ceiling and the sheet rock is almost about to colapse right above my sons bed.
Kids per room/apartment law? My husband and I have three children and live in Florida. In the past, we have always had a three bedroom apartment...our room, one for the boy, and one for the two girls. We are thinking of trying to save money by getting a two bed room (the kids still have their rooms and we would sleep in the living room on a fold out couch). Is there a law about how many children can live in a certain numbered room apartment?
How can i get my kids to go to bed in the same room? they are 3 and 1.5 and have always had their own rooms but are now sharing. we are on night 2 and they will not go to sleep. last night my oldest was in bed first and she is a deep sleeper so it wasent a big deal to put the baby to bed but that is not usually possible. the baby has to go to sleep first and then she wakes up and they wont go to sleep. they just play and the oldest gets out of bed.
Should kids have twin or full size beds? I want me son to have room to grow. he is only 5 but falls out of bed I think he has an older twin mattress that used to be a Grandmas of my husband and I don't know if it is even a normal twin size. My son is so big and I feel he needs a bigger bed. Do kids really have full beds or are they suppose to have twin sizes? all the ads I see have kids with twin beds? I don't know what to do! He is not "big as in chubby" he just is tall and I think he just looks big in that little bed! But he is in the 95% for height and 80% for weight for a 5 year old.
Suggestions on getting two kids who share a room to sleep at night? Trying to put my kids to bed at night is impossible (2yrs and 8yrs) . Once they are in bed the nightmare begins..... My daughter gets into my sons bed...a fight then ensues. My daughter starts talking about monsters....my son gets scared. I have to remove the stuffed animals from the room because he is scared, he hears breathing noises in the corner, someone is tapping on his window or the wall. My daughter is thirsty, she has to go to the bathroom, she keeps bothering her brother by talking to him or poking him, I forgot to give my son a hug or a kiss...they forgot to say goodnight to daddy....the excuses go on and on. I am at my wits end! I have tried grounding them, taking away toys, time-outs, we have had the "monster's don't exist" talk, I have yelled, pleaded, and punished all to no avail. EVERY night is like this since summer began...any suggestions? Besides running away....
~ How Did You Decorate Your Kids Room ~? My son is 5 and I would like to decorate his room and He won't give me any ideas on how I should do it. Also how did you organize all of there toys? When downsizing did you have your child help with getting rid of their toys? Also my son has a double size bed and I've been debating on getting him a twin size so he will have more room. But if I get him a smaller bed now in a few years I'll have to just get him a bigger bed. I'm stuck on this one.... Thanks for any tips!

Does anyone know of a hotel that has a room to accomodate 2 adults and 5 kids? We will be travelling down I-75 heading for Orlando and would prefer all 2 adults and 5 kids stay in one room. We are quite willing to have either 3 in a bed or 1 in a sleeping bag on the floor but it seems no hotels will allow more than 6 to a room. Ideally, we would likely be in the Tennesse area for our overnight on the road. Any suggestions????
How can I get over my paranoia about letting my kids sleep in their own room? They're 5 and 4. Ever since we had a fire 3 years ago, I've had them sleeping in the same room as me. I'm afraid something might happen in the night, and I won't be right next to them, if I had to save them. I'm paranoid about some weirdo coming through their window at night and abducting them. I know this is irrational, but I can't get over it. Their beds are in my room. I can't relax unless I'm in the same room with them sleeping. What can I do? Thanks.
Does anyone here let their dogs sleep in your kids room and if not how do you feel about people who do? When I was a kid my dog always slept at the end of my bed and same for most of my friends. And when we have a kid and the kid is older (6 or so) I would have no problem letting one of the dogs sleep with him too. After all there isn't enough room in our bed for both dogs. Ofcourse it all depends on the dogs temperment but either one of the dogs we have now I would have little concern...As long as the door is open. I know people say never leave kids alone with dogs but I remember when I was a kid I was out walking my dog by myself. He was a 15 pound shih tzu (but even that is strong for a seven year old little girl). I mean has that much really changed in 15 years? Parents used to not think twice about these things...... Just curious how you feel about this? I have a poodle and a mutt and they are both only around a year so they will be the dogs my kids have atleast for a good portion of their childhood
Can you scare your kids on keeping their room clean? My kids will not keep their room clean , and i told them that if they continue this that they will have roaches and rats in their room and beds , so would I be wrong if i purchased a hamster and put it in their bed while are sleep to prove a point????
opinions on twin beds, bunk beds and loft beds. What do your kids like? I cannot decide if I should get my kids bunk beds, regular twin beds or loft beds. I have one boy and one girl (they have their own room) so they don't really need bunk beds but a few friends have suggested bunk beds for extra room for sleepovers. I like loft beds b/c my kids rooms are small and they leave extra space underneath for a bookshelf a desk or just for playing. At what age will they "outgrow" or not want bunk beds or loft beds and prefer a regular "grown up" bed. If your child has a loft bed-do they like it? any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated!
Bedding Solution for my kids? Right now, we are living in a two bedroom apartment. My 14 year old daughter and my 3 year old son have to share a room. I was looking at getting a twin bed for my son, but I was thinking maybe bunk beds? A full/twin combination? I thought this would help the space situation. My husband and I already have a room. We are looking to move out in the next year to a 3 bedroom but there's really nothing else we can do at this point.
How can a convert a dining room to a bed room? Temporary only? I live in a 1 bed room apt with my two kids. I want to give them the bedroom and "convert" the 10x10 dining room into a bed room for us. Of course I can not build real walls, as it is a rental. I need to make two "walls" to close it off. The only idea that I have come up with is to buy wardrobes and use them as walls. Any idea's would be great! Thanks for your help!!!
How many kids can sleep in one room? I just turned 18 and I have gained custody of my 2 sisters who are 13 and 14. Along with my brother who is 12. Is there anyway us 3 girls could share a room? If we each had our own beds? Rent is pretty high over here in texas where I am at. So, it would be hard to find a 3 bedroom right now. This would only be for about 6 months til I can finish my courses to become an Animal Control Officer.

What age do you stop "putting your kids to bed"? I still walk mine to bed and say prayers, and he's nine, and my girlfriend does it with her 12 year old, but then again I know mothers who say goodnight from the living room starting at 7 or whatever... and then my hub tells me it's just babying him to still be walking him to bed.... so I ask -what age did/will you stop walking your kids to thier room at night?
Where to get a good bedroom set? I'm a teenage, and I have outgrown my old bunk-bed kid room...anyway, I was wondering where a good place to look for a new bedroom set teenage friendly. Know any names of some good companies. Higher quality than Art-Van but a little more cost friendly then Ethan Ellen.

Is it illegal to say no kids in a rental ad? I understand you can not discriminate based on family situation. However, if I am renting a small one bedroom that is not adequate for a parent and child am I allowed to state that in my ad? I have many applicants with kids and I keep having to tell them I won't rent to them because their children won't have their own room, bed, etc. I know that our local children and youth agency doesn't allow this either.

Made hotel reservations on line, if kids stay free, why do they need to know how many in a room? We don't travel much, and I made reservations online (its my husband, 2-9yr olds, 1- 8 year old and a six month old)...we can all fit in a room w/ 2 queen beds (with a crib available)...I only put down that it would be 3 kids with the 2 adults..it says kids under 18 stays free with adults. The web site said it would charge for additional adult guests, but did not say anything about a limit as to how many kids there could be. Will it make a difference when we get there? any insght would be helpful....thanks.
which comedian talked about a couple running to their room to have sex before their kids called them? my bf once told me a story a comedian told about being a married couple with kids and finding time to have sex... his wife and him were putting the kids to bed and as soon as the closed the doors they ran for their room, stripping as they went. when they were almost there one of their kids called, "daddy!". So he was like, "ahw, honey go on! start without me!" I really wanna know who this comedian was. Any ideas???
Did your kids have their own room since they were born? I was just wondering because me and my hubby have one daughter so far who is going to be 4 years old in a couple months and she has stayed in the same room as us since she was a newborn. She has had her own beds though, but every once in awhile she sleeps with us. Our room is big so it's not crowded or anything. We have a place right now that has 3 bedrooms. The 2 other bedrooms we've just been using for a storage. Anyway, Do you think it's time for her to stay in a room all to herself? I think I'd be the one weirded out if she slept in another room. but sometimes I do think she is old enough for a room of her own. any suggestions?
Do your kids share a room? I've got two girls, about 2 years apart in age, each in their own room now. We're debating putting them together when the little one moves from crib to bed, leaving the other room for a spare/playroom. I can see now more pros than cons, but I'm worried about a few things - will this make them hate eachother rather than closer, since they won't have their own space? What happens when one is sick or screams out from a nightmare? I'd like opinions and advice please! :)

I was laying in my bed asleep and this man grabbed me and tried to pull me thru the wall i was frozen i couldn't scream, he was mangy and hairy. he held my hand down and started kissing on the side of my neck..then i finally screamed, i mean i really screamed. to the point where my sister came out of her room which is on the other side of the house asking me what happen. I jumped up and started banging on the walls. Man i'm looking back at the wall even now But the most terrifing thing was my neck on that same side is hurting and my hair smells like slop.( i dont drool) See this is the room my kids sleep in and 2 weeks ago my daughter dreamed that a man was coming out of the bathroom that is in THIS room. last week my son had a very dream bad dream. I usually dont sleep in here but the tv is broke so I let them i have room this weekend. Shoot, we all MAY be sleeping in my room. As a matter of fact i'm so terrified i wanna move like right now.... FYI I did not go to sleep with this my kids nightmare on my mind...I had completely forgot about it. We just got back from chucky cheese and all i wanted to do was sleep. i fell asleep playing spades on my cell phone.... However when my daughter woke up i did ask her what he look like and she said that she cant remember. So i ask if she WAS awake or sleep she said she was sleep and he started flying around the room. So i ask her with wings she said no he was a bad spirit. I didnt ask my son he is just six years old so i didnt want him thinking about it PERIOD.
Help with decorating kids room!?!? I have a new stepdaughter, age 11, as well as my 2 daughters who are 8 and 11. I recently got married and along with these 3 girls, I also have a stepson. Problem? We have a 3 bedroom home...so my stepson gets his own room, because hes 13...and of course, my hubby and I get our room...that leaves the girls to share a room. Its not a big ordeal because the room is hugh and the 3 beds fit fine. My girls are with us every other week for a week, but his daughter is always with us...her moms not in the picture. My problem is, decorating ideas. I need a theme idea and cheap ideas...like do it yourself things. Any suggestions? I cant really ask them, because they all want something different...NOT POSSIBLE! Please help before I pull my hair out!
Little kids INVADING your room?? My dad's gf & her annoying kids are moving in..... They have "their own" room & i have mine.. I came to my dads house, and my room was all messy! my bed was unmade, my sisters old jewelry box with jewelry was opened, etc etc. And alot of valuable stuff or stuff that means to me was in there! I asked the little boy (Gf's son) Why they were in there... and he said that bc their TV wasnt working so they came in mine?? and My dad said to me "Well.. i didn't think it was a big deal for them to sleep in your room" When i already asked him before to please keep them out! (Because that's invading my space).. Would this make you angry???? OH YEAH. no negative comments. if you think this would make Y0U mad, make a comment.
9 Kids In One Room (Stop making babies)? whats her problem? didnt she realize it was rough at the 3rd or 4th time Three of Joan Mundle's eight children stand at the front and back of their one-room house Sharing a room with one person can get uncomfortable at times. It is hard to imagine therefore, how Joan Mundle and her eight children can live together in one bedroom. Mundle and her children, whose ages range from one to 20, live in a one room board structure in Tobey Gully, Shooters Hill, St Andrew, and to make matters worse, they have no piped water or electricity. Mundle has lived in the community for the last four years. In order to accommodate all her children and to make things as comfortable as she can, Mundle squeezed two beds into the room, which also acts as the living room, kitchen and dining room. Her only source of income is from a domestic job she does every two weeks and needless to say, the money she earns, is hardly enough to take care of her children and send them to school.
Is it ok for my boyfriend to roll a spliff in the house if the kids are awake - but in another room? He didnt intend on smoking it until he had gone, but just wanted it pre-rolled for later. I walked into the room where he was and saw him rolling it. (He didnt ask my permission, and he doesnt live here) I have allowed him to roll them when the kids have been in bed asleep before, and even to smoke it in my garden, but i think that crosses the line - what do you think? and what would you do? My kids are 9 and 4 Thanks for all your answers, it seems that most of you agree with me. And Classy Lady, yes,I do think i gave him the wrong idea by allowing him to do it in the first place. Miss Si,your views are admirable too, thank you. I shall be putting my foot down immediately! Just to clarify. NO-ONE smokes ANYTHING inside my house EVER.
Feng Shui Colors? what are the best colors for: living room bed room kids bed room kitchen enterance according by the feng shui ? thanks
How can a single mom with 2 young kids happily live in the same (two-family) house with her intrusive father? I moved into my father's two-family house about a year prior to my (at the time) impending divorce. After my ex moved out he has become very difficult to live with. My kids run downstairs to him every time the get a time out or don't like something I say. At which point he becomes involved by coddling and hugging, and he just assumes he can alter my kids rooms. I feel like each time his interference takes place that I lose more and more of my power and control as a parent. He rutinely comes upstairs or calls up (usually as I am putting the kids to bed) and that just winds them up. My boyfriend and I were getting ready to watch a movie one night and he just walked up the stairs and sat down. He hasn't moved on since his divorce from my mother in 1997 and now he has put all this pressure on me to fill that void. I am in a really bad position. I can't afford rent, I am working full time and I am feeling like my father is taking advantage of my disadvantage. I am losing it!
made hotel reservations on line, if kids stay free, why do they need to know how many in a room? We don't travel much, and I made reservations online (its my husband, 2-9yr olds, 1- 8 year old and a six month old)...we can all fit in a room w/ 2 queen beds (with a crib available)...I only put down that it would be 3 kids with the 2 adults..it says kids under 18 stays free with adults. The web site said it would charge for additional adult guests, but did not say anything about a limit as to how many kids there could be. Will it make a difference when we get there? any insght would be helpful....thanks.
how do you get kids to stay in their beds and rooms at bedtime? okay for starters i have 4 kids and the youngest 2 i am having trouble getting them to bed the oldest (10)of them has a sleep disorder (night terrors and he needs meds to sleep or he wont sleep) he suffers seperation anxiety bad.well i had succeeded in getting him to sleep in his room and bed then we moved a yr ago into a house where everything was on one floor and he could see me from his bedroom ( so he knew i was there ) well in june of this year we moved again( had to the other house was sub standard) and now the bedrooms are up stiars and he dont see me when he goes to bed and he keeps getting out of bed and coming downstairs he is now at the point where he wont go to bed unless i am upstairs and he sleeps on the love seat in my bedroom.the other is my lil girl who is 3 i cant get her to stay in her room and i am dealing with the other that i am having trouble doing this i am single so have no help, and i cant seem to remember how i did it before when it worked i read them a story everynight the 10 yr old is a light sleeper he knows the minute i leave the room i have tried the piture of me to hold and i have sat with them and left when he fell asleep he instantly sat up i get the 10 yr old medical treatment becuase he is autistic( high functioning ) and he is also on all kinds of meds) the 3 yr old there is a door to her room she opens it up and comes right out and she can climb over gates or she is smart enough to take them down
My kids share a room and wont go to sleep! HELP!!? I have a 7 yo boy and a 5 yo girl who are sharing a room as we have a new baby arriving. I started early - about 10 months ago, and they still take hours to go to sleep. They have dinner, bath, i read them 2 books then bed every night at the same time, but when i go out they talk, laugh and play and i have to continually have to go in and chastise them. They dont have toys in their room to play with and they dont come out of the room, but they need to wake up at 6.30 to go to school and if they dont get about 10 hrs sleep, i have to wake them and they are tired. I have tried star charts, smacking, taking things they like away but nothing works. They were fine when they had their own rooms, as they didnt have each other to talk to. Any Ideas???? I dont want to move them back into their own rooms as with all the baby stuff..change table, cot, etc etc, there is just not enough room. Plus they dont want to be in with a crying baby! Also yes, they do change together, they still bath together!! and i dont see that as a problem. They are brother and sister, 7 and 5 yrs. When they ask for privacy or to bath seperatly, i will do it then. They both know about their private parts and it has not been a problem.
3 kids in one room? my 4 yr old twin girls and 18 month boy are sharing a room sence we had to get a smaller house for right now, and my youngest is no longer sleeping in a crib sence he won't stay in it anymore. anyway i usually put him to bed then one of the girls and then the other girl but seems to wake the boy up when i put one of the girls in there then the girls say they r scared when its dark in there, i am at a hault here they are driving me crazy.. any suggestions..lol you keep saying to put them to bed together, i have found that they just play, and play and play. and if i ignore the playing it can be 11:00 or 12:00 before they r asleep.. what can you suggest about that.?
is it right for a 21 year old woman to have to sleep in boyfriends 14yr old brothers room? everytime my boyfriend has family over, we get shoved in his little brothers room on a air bed! I dont think this is right! me and my boyfriend are both adults now. we always stay in his bedroom on our own any other time. but just because his gran thinks she's better than us, she takes over his room when she could stay in the living room. and his grandad (from otherside of family) could take the space in the little brothers room! i dont see a problem ! why do they! i just think its wrong that me ( also a guest) gets treated like one of the kids! im a grown woman and dont need to be sleeping in a kids room! my idea is me and my boyfriend take the living room and the grandpa takes the brothers room whilst the gran takes bfs room and parents stay in there room as normal!!! my suggestion works right?? i forgot to clarify.. the brother is actually there as well!! oh no no i dont live with them. and its not about sex! just privacy again the idea is that we are all there! this happens at special occasions only! i just dont feel comfortable moving out is a stupid suggestion. because the family all live so far away this is the only option. and me n my bf are both poor full time students. with jobs i mite add- any helpfull suggestions?

does it mean ur kids are considered "poor" if they are not given all the best things? my aunt and uncle are filthy rich and they refer to our kids as poor kids cause we dont raise them like they did my cousins.they think we should have a ton of money to and shop at the expensive stores and spoil our kids, they should never have to do chores, there qoute is lets kids have fun not work. how would u handle that my take on it is i was not raised that way by my parents but did have more than some other did but i am ok with livin a life with a few bills and not livin in a big old house with spoiled rotten ungrateful kids that are lazy slobs. my kids have their own bed rooms and plenty of clothes and shoes and clothes, food and all the things they need but not always everything they want and i think that is the way it should be,dont u?
Should I divorce my kids dad? They are young...? I had actually filed last year. We went through full custody hearings, the works. Soon after, he called me to proclaim that he'd "beaten my ass in court" and got "his kids back," but now he wants his wife back too. I didn't really want him back, I'm sick of it all but we went into counseling anyway. After few months I see he doesn't really want to change, he doesn't want to work on it - he just wants to keep his "family". He constanty undermines me in front of kids, telling them they don't have to mind me, letting them do stuff I just told them they can't do, letting them sleep in bed with him (then there's no room for me in the bed and I have to sleep in my kids bed or on the couch), picks fights, provokes me in front of kids. I asked him if he wants me to leave - he just grins and says "do what you want - I just want MY kids with me." Occasionally after an episode he'll bring home flowers. But nothing has changed. I am in despair. I feel trapped and humiliated in this marriage.
