help with decorating kids room? I need some ideas on decorating my sons room. He is 4 1/2 and wants his room re-done. Get rid of the "baby stuff" and he wants monster trucks. Any creative ideas? Ideas on decorating a shelf that my kids wrote on? I have this shelf that looks like a house. It is white and my kids have written on them with a perm. sharpie. It's made of pressed board with an overlay. So, I can't paint it. I don't want to throw it away because it is very cute. I've thought about lacing it with tuille or something like that. I'm redoing their room. I've also thought about marabou. But, I'm afraid that it would get ruined when I went to wipe it down to clean it. Got any good ideas that are pretty inexpensive?

decorating kids bedroom & bathroom? My boyfriend and I don't have his kids stay with us very often so when they do all 4 of them stay in the same bedroom. We haev two sets of bunk beds. The room isn't that big but I would like to set it up so that it is more appealing & more useful to the kids. (2 boys and 2 girls ages 5-10). The room is white. Bathroom attached is yellow and I have started a fish theme. Anyone got any advice as to how to make this work for the kids?

Help with decorating living room? O.K. I have a huge problem with decorating my living room. It is about 16X20 and has 18 ft ceilings. The focal point wall has a bookcase/TV that is 10ft long. Above the bookcase is two large pieces of art that my kids created with a local artist (4X6 each). The wall to the left (of the bookcase) is a large 12ft window that is 2 stories high and arched at the top. The wall to the right is about 12ft because it has the staircase coming off of it. There is an "overlook" balcony above the living room. The walls are a tan color. The couch is olive and the overstuffed chair is plaid. The artwork ties all colors together. The problem is that all the walls are so high and I definitely lack with accessorizing! I want a clean/contemporary look and it seems to be too casual. Any ideas?

Baby/parents room decorating?? My dad had an awful heart surgery last year, and since is not quite himself. My parents offered the idea of us moving in with them tohelp out, and my boyfriend could do household chores my dad can no longer do (like yard work, and fixing things), in return, they'll help us with the baby, which is our first, so we'll need it (she comes in July). There couldn't be a sweeter deal!! Anyway, since all of my parents kids have moved out of their house, my parents gave us a bedroom with a "connected living room" (used to be just one big room) for us to work with. It has periwinkle walls, and beige carpet. Obviously, since it's my families home, our baby will have the whole house to run wild in. HOWEVER, since the baby will be sharing a room with us, I was still wondering how I can decorate this room to be calming and adult, but at the same time happy and childish. Any ideas for either style would be so helpful :)!!

Decorating room tips? I recently moved last summer to go to university. But im getting soo bored of my room. My bed is pink and for a kid thats like 5 (I dont really know why my mom bought these for me but w.e) and she also bought me pink curtains (this was all part of my graduation gift). So my room basically shines of bright pink. So i kinda want to make it look not so childish. I have like 3 book shelves different sizes and my own desk, my guitars all sit in the corner of my room by a closet. Does ne one know of ne ways to make my walls look better besides putting up posters?

How do I hang this accordian storage holder in kids room? I just re-decorated our 2 1/2 year olds room. We bought a lot of really cool decor for her room and one of the items is this disney accordian storage holder. I'm not sure exactly how to describe it, but it just has 3 fabric storage bins and I was going to put stuffed animals in them, but it's supposed to drop down from the wall and look like an accordian. It can't be against the wall though. It has a velcro (sp?) loop at the top, but I have no idea what to use to hang this...any ideas? Thanks My husband said the same thing (it probably goes in the closet) but it's really cute and I wanted to put it in her room, but I'll put it in the closet if that's the best option! =)

Room decorating.? I am trying to decorate my room nicely, but I can't do too much with it. It's pretty big, about 12x14ft. I have white and tan tiles and very light green walls. I'd say mint green. I have a futon bed with pink bedding and lots of pillows. I have 2 pink chairs. One is fold up, and the other is like a little kid chair kind of. I have a light colored wood dresser with 4 drawers. I have a big cabinet that has 3 shelves and 2 drawers. I have a shelf set and it's white and it has 3 shelves too. I have a little nightstand and it's wicker. I have a box and it's got cats on it and it's kinda big. I have a computer desk that I don't use for a computer since I have a laptop. I have lots of stuff. I have a walk in closet, it's kind of small, but it works. It has a white box in it that takes up alot of space, but I can't take it out. I have alot of clothes in there and quite a bit of stuff. Any ideas how to make it look nice without making huge changes? Like, just changing accessories or something?
