Decorating room for little kids - what is your idea? I have a 4 year old boy and an 18 month old girl. We are moving to our new home and they will be sharing a room. It is a big room, but currently all white and boring. How can i decorate it to make them both happy - she is very "girly" and loves all pretty dollies and cuddly toys and he is very "boyish" loving transformers and cars etc. should i try for a 101 dalmations theme which would be black red and white with puppies - or do you have a better idea????

Camping Room Ideas for a Toddler Boy? Our son has a camping theme room, fairly good size room. We painted it Limey Grassy Green and it has tan carpet and white ceilings with a white ceiling fan. He has 2 giant Leaves over his light wooden twin bed (leaves are from Ikea). He has camping themed bedding and bug sheets (although I'd be interested in finding another set of the bug sheets - we got the bedding set from Target on clearance a couple years ago). He has a matching lamp with scout patches on it. He has a nightstand and a dresser with a mirror on it. My dad is making him a canoe bookshelf (either red or navy blue). He just has regular blinds on his windows right now. Oh, and a big green bug light on his wall. Along the wall that the big leaves and his bed is on, we have his name letters - navy blue from Pottery Barn Kids. Any ideas for things to put on his dresser and bookshelf? Also, we could use 1 or 2 big pictures for his wall!

Little kids visiting patients in shared hospital rooms - Bad idea? Okay? I have a very sick aunt who had major surgery and spent nearly two weeks in the hospital. Both of her roommates at the hospital had visitors who brought their little kids into the room for hours and hours at a time. The kids would run around and make a lot of noise. Cry a lot and scream. That was bad enough, but I worried about all the germs that little kids can bring into the hospital. Kids are germy creatures. I asked the head nurse about it and they said there is nothing in their hospital policy that prohibits little kids. I think it's unfair to the other patients who are trying to recuperate. What do you think?

Small kids room always a mess!!? My daughters room is always a mess! She has tons of stuff and a fairly small room. I have given toys away, tried to organize, but at the end of the week it is a mess again. I know she is 7 and rooms are usually messy anyways, but I also am not a very good organizer. Any organizing tips or ideas would greatly be appreciated. She has tons of barbies and dress up clothes. Maybe adding more shelves?? The barbies are in a big rubbermaid tub right now, but it is a pain to figure out what is in there half the time. Please Help!
Lunches that can be eaten cold or room temp for kids? My children (3 and 5 yrs) are so tired of the lunches I that I have been packing for them and so am I. P&J, fruit, and other snacks is what I pack for them. They come home hungry and the lunch I packed for them they never touch. Does anyone have any ideas? insect bites from kids room? Hi, my kids have been getting really bad insect bites in their room, at first it was just one child so I hoovered her mattress, cleared out her soft toys etc, but it continued and now they both have bites! It only seems to happen at night. What could it be and how can i fix it!? living with young kids in 2 story house? my partner n i are looking in to building a 2 story house. we have 3 kids under 6. we want our bedroom up the top with the kids rooms on the ground level. is this a good idea or will we get sick of runnin up n down stairs in the night. i want advice from people who are already living like this please. do you think it's more convenient to have all bedrooms on the same level.
An idea for a Birthday snack for a class room of 1st graders? I wanted to do something different for the class, instead of the usual cupcakes. The schools these days are weening away from the surgar glazed candy filled celebrations of yester years. Which is fine with me. I had an idea for somehting I call Bagel People, bagels sliced with tinted blue or pink cream cheese (for boys and girls) and add pretzel sticks for arms and legs, and rasins, M&Ms, and or other small snackables like different dried fruit. Then they could build there own Bagel Person. When my soon to be six year old heard me say the bagels could be pink or blue she was all for it. But I am worried the other kids would shy away from it. My Husband say kids want cupcakes plain and simple, cause thats what Birthdays are for, he says the kids will hate me... what should I do?

is it right for a 21 year old woman to have to sleep in boyfriends 14yr old brothers room? everytime my boyfriend has family over, we get shoved in his little brothers room on a air bed! I dont think this is right! me and my boyfriend are both adults now. we always stay in his bedroom on our own any other time. but just because his gran thinks she's better than us, she takes over his room when she could stay in the living room. and his grandad (from otherside of family) could take the space in the little brothers room! i dont see a problem ! why do they! i just think its wrong that me ( also a guest) gets treated like one of the kids! im a grown woman and dont need to be sleeping in a kids room! my idea is me and my boyfriend take the living room and the grandpa takes the brothers room whilst the gran takes bfs room and parents stay in there room as normal!!! my suggestion works right?? i forgot to clarify.. the brother is actually there as well!! oh no no i dont live with them. and its not about sex! just privacy again the idea is that we are all there! this happens at special occasions only! i just dont feel comfortable moving out is a stupid suggestion. because the family all live so far away this is the only option. and me n my bf are both poor full time students. with jobs i mite add- any helpfull suggestions?
How many kids can share a room legally? I have a huge four bedrm house, im not sure of the sq. footage. The kids room is the biggest rm in the house. We are planning to make four rooms out of it but right now the kids have to share. I live in Texas and I have two other kids come every other wkend. Also what is the age limit when they have to have single gender only rooms?
How long should my kids room together? My kids are only 2 and 3 years old. I have read that little ones sleep better and longer if they room in together. The article also said it was great for bonding and development as well. We have a large house with extra bedrooms but we and the kids prefer that they stay together. (they have seperate beds) A "friend" was over the other day and said that I am lucky that no one has called social services on me since I have a boy and a girl in the same room. Does anyone know if there are specific rules or laws about this?(we are in Michigan if that makes a difference) And also, barring any legislation on the matter, how long do you feel that children of the opposite sex can/should share a bedroom? Karate Kids Room Theme? Both my son Noel & Matthew 5 & 6 yrs. old just won the 1st Place and 2nd Place in White Belt Kicks Karate tournament. Wee! Is this drugs I found in my kids room? I was snooping through my sons room today and came across a ziploc bag rapped up with a rubberband. It looked to me like rice at first but than upon a closer look I have no idea what it is. The bag is probably about the size of a baseball. It looks like white or semi clear pieces about the size of rice. Anyone know what this is? I have have caught him smoking pot before but I think this may be some serious drugs. He is gone for the weekend so please help!
Is it a good idea to paint on old floors like press wood? We replaced the carpet in most of our house with hardwood but kept the carpet in our kids rooms because the money was tight. Well now, while painting in our oldest daughters room we had an accident so we had to remove the carpet. I cant afford to replace the carpet or put hardwood down now so I want to just paint the floor and use rugs as a temporary fix. The problem is the floors of this house are presswood (horrible stuff). So will this work at all, and if so how should we go about it?

I was laying in my bed asleep and this man grabbed me and tried to pull me thru the wall i was frozen i couldn't scream, he was mangy and hairy. he held my hand down and started kissing on the side of my neck..then i finally screamed, i mean i really screamed. to the point where my sister came out of her room which is on the other side of the house asking me what happen. I jumped up and started banging on the walls. Man i'm looking back at the wall even now But the most terrifing thing was my neck on that same side is hurting and my hair smells like slop.( i dont drool) See this is the room my kids sleep in and 2 weeks ago my daughter dreamed that a man was coming out of the bathroom that is in THIS room. last week my son had a very dream bad dream. I usually dont sleep in here but the tv is broke so I let them i have room this weekend. Shoot, we all MAY be sleeping in my room. As a matter of fact i'm so terrified i wanna move like right now.... FYI I did not go to sleep with this my kids nightmare on my mind...I had completely forgot about it. We just got back from chucky cheese and all i wanted to do was sleep. i fell asleep playing spades on my cell phone.... However when my daughter woke up i did ask her what he look like and she said that she cant remember. So i ask if she WAS awake or sleep she said she was sleep and he started flying around the room. So i ask her with wings she said no he was a bad spirit. I didnt ask my son he is just six years old so i didnt want him thinking about it PERIOD.

kids in the same room? Is it okay to have kids share rooms? We have a two year old girl and are expecting our second here soon. We have a two bedroom house, and the bedrooms are decent sized (about 12 ft by 10 ft). I guess what I'm worried about is that the baby crying will wake up our two year old, or if our two year old gets up at night while we're sleeping and tries playing with the baby or covering the baby up and ends up really hurting the baby. Also, if the baby is a boy, then is it really proper for them to share a room? We bought our hose only two years ago, and we have to live in it five years before we can move or sell it. What are your suggestions/ opinions?
Kids shared changing room? When i was young, abt 9 years old, i attended swimming lessons held by the sch. After the swimming lesson, our teacher will tell all of us to go to the kids changing room which was shared between boy and girls. The thing is that there were only 15 cubicles and the class was 30 students. So, the rest of them had to change outside. Help with decorating kids room!?!? I have a new stepdaughter, age 11, as well as my 2 daughters who are 8 and 11. I recently got married and along with these 3 girls, I also have a stepson. Problem? We have a 3 bedroom home...so my stepson gets his own room, because hes 13...and of course, my hubby and I get our room...that leaves the girls to share a room. Is any one of ur kids room theme Hello Kitty? I decided to change the theme of my babies room to Hello Kitty. I was looking them up online and Hello kitty is pretty expensive. Anyone know of a website with good prices?
i looking to purchase an airconditioning unit for my kids room upstairs. The problem? The room is partially divided in half by a wall. Now the wall does not go all the way up to the ceiling...as a matter of fact, there is a ceiling fan smack dab in the middle (where the wall stops). In other words, the fan is in part of each room. Also, the wall does not extend to the other wall. There is room for a door...as a matter of fact it's a little wider than a traditional door. It gets hot upstairs and I was wondering where should I put the air conditioner. On the side the sleep on or on the common area side? Would it make a difference if I got higher BTU's...because of the wall and all. Also, do you think the ceiling fan will help distribute the air into other parts of the room? Thank you!
What should I do about the mold in my kids room? We have lived in our apartment for almost three years. Pretty much the whole time we've been there my three year old and one year old have been sick, including my wife and I. We told the complex that there was mold on our kids ceiling and that they we're pretty sick. Well they came in and painted over the area. Then we turned the furnace on and man we all got sick, so we complained again. This time they came in said there was no mold and that the only heath issue was that we needed to clean our place. That was about three weeks ago and we have just noticed that there is alot more mold on our kids ceiling and the sheet rock is almost about to colapse right above my sons bed.
Anytips on colors of paint & furniture to make a kids room look bigger? My daughter is 5 and loves tinkerbell. Decided to do her room under that theme, however most of the colors are fairly dark.(purple, pink, green,etc) Will that make her room look smaller?
How do I hang this accordian storage holder in kids room? I just re-decorated our 2 1/2 year olds room. We bought a lot of really cool decor for her room and one of the items is this disney accordian storage holder. I'm not sure exactly how to describe it, but it just has 3 fabric storage bins and I was going to put stuffed animals in them, but it's supposed to drop down from the wall and look like an accordian. It can't be against the wall though. It has a velcro (sp?) loop at the top, but I have no idea what to use to hang this...any ideas? Thanks My husband said the same thing (it probably goes in the closet) but it's really cute and I wanted to put it in her room, but I'll put it in the closet if that's the best option! =)
What is your Opinion about TV in your Kids room? So, what do you think about your Toddler falling asleep to the TV or just having a TV in there room?? Please no RUDE Opinions about it.. Just asking a Question. Thanks :o) Witty: Actually I do have a TV in my 1 year old sons room. It helps him go to sleep. I guess the Sound and more the Light. Even when I was younger I slept with a TV but as I got older I couldnt stand it. Then I met my Husband and he HAS to have the TV on. But yea I was just asking because my son's DVD player just broke and he likes the sing along movies I play for him and so he has been upset. Just was wondering what others thought about the TV situation. :o)
my husdband & i were having sex in my kids room, i was making the bed and my hubby came in and we just had it? my kids saw and one of my daughters (6) saw it. then the next day her and her 'boyfriend' were having a play date then i went upstairs to ask what they wanted for lunch. i came in and they were talking and my daughter says"my mommy and daddy were jumpin on each other and mommy was makin a sound they didn't have clothes on either it looked like fun" they weren't doing anything but what if she trys. help me! what do i tell her? pleaseee help!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was my own dumb fault but i didn't know it was so close to the time they got home from school. HELP!
Why does my dog go upstairs in my kids room and use the bathroom up there? he will just go outside be out for like 10 minutes then come in go up in there room and use teh bathroom pee and shit.
